LeBrasseur and Christina Chen Book Review <p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ZzykJcisL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="646" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ZzykJcisL._SL1500_.jpg" width="646" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><i>Mayo Clinic on Healthy Aging</i> is a new book about the biology of aging and what we can expect. They looked at the age lift span and how it has changed. In the 1900s the average life span was about 45 years old. Now people live to almost 80. This book is geared to try and help increase the age gap and to help us live longer. They looked at the brain, heart and lungs, immunity health, urinary health, and much more. They explored topics such as retirement planning, exercise, eating well, and vaccinations. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">The first part of the book explored the brain and how it ages. Our brain will shrink in size and this will in turn affect structures of the brain and we may have a decrease in cognitive function. We will lose our response time and it is 1.5 times slower than a young adult. One positive thing is that our judgement often gets better with age and this is because of knowledge and skills and experience. The book explained how researchers have discovered that we can control some of the risk factors to our brain health. One of the ways is keeping our brains challenged and boosting our cognitive. We need to address our physical activity, stress levels, tobacco use, blood pressure, and much more. One of the studies found if we have interrupted sleep, we are more at risk at developing dementia. They recommended following a plant-based diet to prevent dementia. They shared how helpful it can be to have a calendar and a task list to keep you focus and to help you remember. It’s important to perform one task at a time. There is mental aerobics we can use to stretch our brain and to keep it sharpened. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to age better and they want to improve their quality of life. I loved how they covered the entire body and health systems. I liked how they discussed kidney stones since this is something I have experienced a few times. They shared some of the causes and how we can try to prevent them as we age. I liked how they discussed what to eat and the importance of maintaining physical activity and getting enough sleep. They covered a wide range of different topics that will assist people as the age and it was very informative. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">This movie is a perfect film released just in time for Easter. It all began with a story in a notebook telling others about Jesus. It retells the story of Jesus starting with him traveling on a donkey, meeting people, and performing miracles. He showed love to others and then was betrayed by Judah and he died for our sins and rose again. The film walks readers through the entire 47 days of Jesus final journey on earth. A lot of the Jesus scenes were performed as a musical and had a song conveying the message. I also loved the other message of the film it showcased a family who was visiting with family and a father who was too busy working to enjoy the time together. His father was very former fireman and he was now very sick with cancer. He tried to help his son realize that time is short and we need to spend the time with our loved ones while they are still here. His son was a workaholic who rarely got time with his wife and kids. He was trying to be driven to reach his goal in his company. His marriage was failing and, on the rocks, and the true story of Jesus is the only hope it had left. I really enjoyed how they tied both stories together and they kept going back and forth to provide hope. The musical made it very family friendly and kids will enjoy the message of the film. I know parents may be worried about kids seeing Jesus being crucified on the cross and it wasn’t as violent as other movies and they would be safe to watch it. I think this film is a wonderful easter movie to introduce people to Christ. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; His family, coaches, and mentors helped him to have a real and deep relationship with Christ. It all changed when he met Joshua Rolf who worked alongside him at his church. He helped him to understand how the scriptures were all woven together. He explained beginning in Genesis how God created man in His own image and how He made us male and female. We are the only thing that God made in His image and we are like Him. The animals or plants were not. He shared how we have a connection and a responsibility to participate in God’s plan and His mission. He instructed to be fruitful and multiply. Zach takes the approach a little differently. We need to look at not just as a command to reproduce. What if instead God is more after having quality fruit and representing Christ in the world. God’s glory needs to be our focus and to spread it all and touch other lives in His image. Adam and Eve were instructed to fill the earth and to show God’s image to the entire world. He shared how we should ask ourselves two questions to discover God’s dream and work effectively at our purpose. He explored how each scripture takes us on a journey of blessing and they are woven together throughout the whole Bible. He discussed also the blessing of Noah, rebellion, Abraham, and all the way to Revelations and how we can find out God’s dream for us. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book discussing God’s dream for us and His glory. It was very life changing to read about his incredible approach on God’s image and how we can be a disciple and represent God in the world. I liked how he broke down the sacred thread starting at Genesis and going all the way to Revelations. I liked how he looked at the distinctive blessings throughout the passages of scriptures. I appreciated how he encouraged readers to actively engage and be a part of His story and learn to be immediate, radical, and follow the costly obedience. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from Zach Duke for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b>If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</b><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-71076407556427527512024-02-18T11:34:00.000-05:002024-02-18T11:34:18.876-05:00The Love Everybody Wants: What You're Looking For Is Already Yours by Madison Prewett Troutt Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81L1Xk4GSzL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="531" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81L1Xk4GSzL._SL1500_.jpg" width="531" /></a></div><br /> <p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>The Love Everybody Wants</i>, Madison Prewett Troutt explored the topic of love and where true love occurs. She was a contestant on The Bachelor in season 24. In the book, she will share her experience with her journey on singleness and finding love. She explained how God loves us unconditionally and we can all experience that. Scriptures instructs us to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind. Then next we are told to love our neighbor as yourself. She looked at what true love is and we can use 1 Corinthians 13 as an example to recall what we should be seeking in love. She wasn’t afraid to discuss the loaded questions such as, “Am I hard to love, Am I enough, and Will I ever get picked. She helped readers to pay attention to the thoughts that they have about themselves. She encouraged readers to remember what God says about them and how critical it is to replace the lies with His truths. Our worth can be found in the cross and how much He loves us. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In the book, she looked at shame and how we can learn to break up with our shame. She told a personal story about how when she was 21 years old, she accidently left her boss a voicemail instead of her boyfriend at the time. She told him he was cute and that she missed him. She remembers her boss asking her about the call and she called and explained it to his wife. She remembers feeling ashamed and bad about the mix up. Many of us may be feeling ashamed about our past sins. She shared other stories about people being videotaped without her knowing. Shame harms our identity and affects our self-worth. It can lead us down a bad path into our self-defeating thoughts and self-hatred. Shame ends when we realize who Jesus is and the power, He has over it. In His word, we are told we are forgiven. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book that touched on all aspects of singleness and true love. I loved how she chose to share about God’s incredible love and how we can experience a remarkable relationship with Christ. Each chapter has questions we can ask ourselves such as, “why did God allow that rejection to happen”. I also liked how she shared how she met the love of her life, Grant and what she learned along the way. This book is an excellent resource for single people and it will guide them through all the questions they may have about true love. This book is wonderful for single women and is written just for them. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Waterbrook for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0593445244/" style="color: #954f72; font-size: 14pt; text-align: left;">https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0593445244/</a><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><br /></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-86167863037929288452024-02-17T10:34:00.002-05:002024-02-17T10:34:15.726-05:00Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure by Maren Morris and Karina Argow Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81j8ueKW02L._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="658" height="657" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81j8ueKW02L._SL1500_.jpg" width="540" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure</i>, Maren Morris has written her first children’s book. Addie Ant lived in the bottom of a tomato bed with her aunt Gertie and aunt Zelda. But she longed to travel across the garden and visit the area behind the shed. It is filled with watermelons and sunflowers. She meets some fun characters such as Lewis Ladybug. She was warned about the gardener’s hen, Harriet Chicken. He would often mistake critters as corn. She makes her way to the watermelons and sunflowers and is taken back from the beautiful scenery and adventure. <o:p></o:p></p><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who has children aged 1-7. I loved how this book educated kids on the importance of ants and how they help plants and the ecosystem in the garden or the rainforest. This book is a fun little adventure book about nature and how ants probably have a quest daily in the environment. This book is a little different from what I thought Maren Morris would have written. I’m guessing she wrote it for son. It didn’t have a lot of music or lyric references like I thought at first it would have coming from a hit songwriter. It was still a fun adventure for children to partake on. The illustration was breathtaking and children will enjoy watching the adventure unfold. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from Chronicle Books for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b>If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Addie-Goes-Adventure-Maren-Morris/dp/1797228919/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Addie-Goes-Adventure-Maren-Morris/dp/1797228919/</a><o:p></o:p></p><p> </p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-16220847550848655052024-02-11T12:08:00.004-05:002024-02-11T12:08:21.625-05:00Finding Grace: The Inspiring True Story of Therapy Dogs Bringing Comfort, Hope, and Love to a Hurting World by Larry Randolph and Jennifer Marshall Bleakley Book Review <p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81TuoI+YYYL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="533" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81TuoI+YYYL._SL1500_.jpg" width="533" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Finding Grace</i>, Larry Randolph tells the story of how he founded Canines for Christ. Him and his wife, Susan was already at retirement age and doing so much to help the community around them. He recalls how God spoke to him and told him he needed to invest in therapy dogs. He didn’t even have a dog at the time. He remembered how he has a special dog, Gus before when he was in desperate need of a best friend. The economy had just fell and real estate experienced a downturn. He had to file for bankruptcy. His family gifted him Gus to keep him company during the day. The economy did recover but his marriage to Chris didn’t. They divorced and Gus helped him through all of the pain and all the difference in the world. Eventually, Gus did pass away and he hasn’t had a dog since. He shared how he felt led to again get another dog and start his foundation. He had their logo embroidered in gold lettering and this represented the gospel and the blood of Christ. They grew it to over twenty teams and they travel all of over to homes, hospitals, care facilities, and schools to provide comfort and to display God’s love to them. In the book, they shared some of the people they were blessed to meet and help change their lives. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">One of these touching stories was about Laura and Carl. Laura met them at a drug store. She wanted to meet later on with them and tell them her story. She explained how she was hit by an 18-year-old driver going 50 mph in a 35 mph. She was driving home from a meeting when she was hit and it just so happened that an off-duty fireman heard the crash. He thought she was dead but he was able to revive her. She was given a 2 % chance of surviving. She shared how God spoke to her and told her that this wasn’t her time to go. She had to leave her job and she spends her day with her own dog, Chloe. They became a part of their ministry. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend this awesome book on how this ministry has been able to make so much of a difference in people’s lives. This book is a wonderful example of sharing God’s love to a hurting world. It was inspiring to read the different stories and how they helped others. It was also touching to read about how Grace helped Larry when Susan faced health challenges. This book is a delightful read for any dog lovers with a mixture of positive lessons we can learn from dogs. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Tyndale Momentum for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Grace-Inspiring-Therapy-Bringing/dp/1496473604/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Grace-Inspiring-Therapy-Bringing/dp/1496473604/</a><o:p></o:p></p></div>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-79940524146558689902024-02-11T09:55:00.001-05:002024-02-11T09:55:08.727-05:00Discovering Happiness Again: Winning The War Against Anxiety & Stress While Building Resilience by Edward Zajac Book Review <p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/61ucrPsDIxL._SL1491_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="537" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/61ucrPsDIxL._SL1491_.jpg" width="537" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Discovering Happiness Again</i>, Edward Zajac has written a book about finding genuine from inside and allowing it to freely flow out of you. We are constantly bombard with bad news and we struggle with anxiety. He shared in the book how when his mother, Marie was seventeen years old she was living in Bircza. They were devoted Christians and they lived near Jews. There was a spirit of anxiety and fear in the air. The Polish army was mobilized by Hitler and there was no place they could escape. The war was already around them. She also shared how her faith helped her and how Jesus’s love would drive away all of his fears. She would need her faith when the Nazi overtook their village. She witnessed the mayor being shot in the head because he refused to bow to the Germans. The army eventually took her away from her family. He shared his mother’s experience in working in the hard labor and living in the camp. She felt alone and depressed and God spoke to her during this time. He told her that she would live and this wouldn’t be the ending of her life. Sunrise is coming and His love will conquer the darkness. She shared how she was able to renew her mind with the word of God. The book walked readers through how to release their suppressed emotions with around 20 questions. <br /><br /><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">One of my favorite chapters was about unlocking your true value and overcoming self-doubt and low self-esteem. She explained the ways the Nazis would try and dehumanize them. They would treat them like animals and they wanted them to feel like they had no worth or value. She shared how maybe they did it because they would feel less guilty if they killed them if they treated them like an insect. The train ride began with no heat, no food, and they were overcrowded. If someone died on the ride to the camp, they would just dump them out in the snow. They would kill people in front of them and make them bury them. She explained how the ones who knew their value was harder to break down. They held on to peace even when faced with trauma. She also opened up tools and tips from her grandmother and our deepest needs and our self-worth. I really liked how this chapter discussed why people are judgmental and how they can choose to be mean to us and treat us poorly. Sometimes it can nothing to do with you at all. We can instead focus on only on having God’s approval. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is wanting to discover true happiness. I liked how he chose to share a lot of his own mother’s story and her experience with surviving in a camp during Hillier’s rule. Her story was breathtaking and it was extremely touching to read how she survived depression and re-found her hope again. I loved how she explained how we can accept that we are wonderful just the way we are. She helped readers to learn to agree with what God says about us. It was inspiring to read about her whole story. The book also included questions at the end of each chapter. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Discovering-Happiness-Again-Building-Resilience/dp/0979077133/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Discovering-Happiness-Again-Building-Resilience/dp/0979077133/</a><o:p></o:p></p></div>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-55276280255792219262024-02-04T16:23:00.002-05:002024-02-04T16:23:53.219-05:00Encouraging Words for a Discouraging World: 10 Biblical Promises to Bring Comfort in Chaos by Dr. David Jeremiah Book Review <p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81AK7PGF0yL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="557" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81AK7PGF0yL._SL1500_.jpg" width="557" /></a></div><br /><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">In <i>Encouraging Words for a Discouraging World</i>, Dr. David Jeremiah has written a new book to embolden readers with a special resilience to overcome challenges. We are all faced with upsetting news reports or we receive a dread phone call from a loved one. We get crushed to our knees in fear and discouragement. He explained how the Bible is filled with the knowledge and hope on how to survive in troubling times. He shared how Peter discussed God’s promises and how they can sustain our faith. His promises are infallible and will last until the end of time. Each chapter contained a short story, a short quote, questions, a spot to journal, and a prayer. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">In the book, he opened up about how in 1994, he discovered he had a mass in his abdomen. It was lymphoma and he felt tired all the time. He shared how pain led him to diving into God’s word and he would study and reflect on God’s promises. He explored Paul and how he experienced thorns in his own life and satan was the one causing him to be buffeted. He had his own share of afflictions and scholars are mixed on all of the health issues he could have faced. This is directed to how God’s grace is sufficient to us and His strength is perfect in our weaknesses. He even asked God to remove the thorn three times in his life and God wouldn’t. God was still active in his life and gave the strength to continue on and run his race. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">I would recommend this awesome book filled with true encouragement to inspire you while you are in the mist of feeling down and hopeless. I also appreciated how he stated the importance of journaling and remembering what past victories we have conquered. It was motivating to read about how David would journal and remember his past successes and gain wisdom from the past. We can use this as an inventory tool to recall God’s faithfulness in our lives. I liked how positive this book was and provide a rekindled hope for the future even when confronted with discouragement. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Thomas Nelson for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Encouraging-Words-Discouraging-World-Biblical/dp/1400211344" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Encouraging-Words-Discouraging-World-Biblical/dp/1400211344</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-82206917880021518962024-02-03T17:33:00.005-05:002024-02-03T17:33:38.967-05:00Life As We Know It (Can Be): Stories of People, Climate, and Hope in a Changing World by Bill Weir Book Review <p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/815d9XcN9hL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="533" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/815d9XcN9hL._SL1500_.jpg" width="533" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Life As We Know It (Can Be)</i>, Bill Weir has written a book touching on events that is currently happening around the world. He is an award-winning journalist and he is an CNN chief climate correspondent. This book is made to be one who is written to his first son who was born in 2020. He has high hopes that his son, River will read it in around the year 2050. It is in the style of an Earth Day letter. The book is divided into a few parts such as physiologically, safety needs, love and esteem needs, and self-actualization. In the book he explored Hurricane Katrina, the changes in energy throughout the years, temperature changes, and the hope we can have for the future. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite chapters he discussed was about Hurricane Katrina and his experience in reporting this event. At the time, he worked for ABC news and they were the only network without any coverage on the ground. He explained how they had to get a rental that cost them around $10,000 dollars for the trip to the French Quarter. He explained what he encountered on his different reporting on storm damage. He learned that water is either too much or never enough. He shared how it can throw people into the hierarchy pyramid on needs all at once when they experience a horrible event happen. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this inspiring book to anyone who enjoys reading about weather, climate change, and the history of past events. I liked how he wrote it in the style of an Earth Day letter to be read in the future by his son and our children. It mixed history and explained what current events we are facing. I liked how he touched on what could happen in the future and the hope we can have. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Chronicle Books for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Life-We-Know-Can-Be/dp/179721361X" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Life-We-Know-Can-Be/dp/179721361X</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-59631133621128977152024-02-03T16:33:00.001-05:002024-02-03T16:33:12.449-05:00Well to the Core: A Realistic, Guilt-Free Approach to Getting Fit and Feeling Good for a Lifetime by Robin Long Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/71mNUUmMpyL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="595" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/71mNUUmMpyL._SL1500_.jpg" width="595" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Well to the Core</i>, Robin Long explored how you can reclaim your health and live healthier on your journey to wellness. She is a certified Pilates instructor and founder of Lindywell. In the book, she shared how a moment changed her entire life. She recalls how when she was eight years old and hanging out with her best friend. They were playing and dressing up like they were twins. Her friend’s dad made a comment about how much smaller their daughter’s legs were compared to hers. She remembers going to cry under their pinball machine. This caused her to begin to recognize how her thighs were bigger than most of her friends. She also remembers one of her past boyfriends referring to her chin as like Jay Leno. She admitted to how she would try different diets and trends to try and work off all the food she ate. This in part as to why she wrote this book to help woman to achieve wellness and to lose the guilt and shame. It is divided up into ten core components. These included: reframe, move, breathe, play, unplug, just to name a few. <o:p></o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">She explored how she begins each Pilates class with a few deep breaths and how we can try and become one with our bodies. Mind and body connection can help us to have lower blood pressure, reduce cortisol levels, and have an increased level of dopamine. She described Pilates as a system of exercises meant for physical health and conditioning. It isn’t seen as related to a spiritual practice. She focuses on the importance of core strength, spine, flexibility, balance, alignment, and much more. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">One of my favorite chapters discussed steps to changing our inner dialogue. This first step is to become aware of what we are thinking about and are they helping us to become who we want to be. We also need to listen how we talk to ourselves. She enclosed some helpful questions we can journal and reflect on. She deliberated what we can do when we miss a workout and how we can literally flip the switch and give ourselves compassion. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is wanting to try Pilates and obtain an overall new healthier living lifestyle. There are tons of helpful habits and suggestions to get us more centered and balanced in life. I enjoyed how she included a helpful meal and snacks examples to have a balance between protein and fat such as an apple and almond butter. I also appreciated the info on staying hydrated. I also liked the recipe ideas enclosed such as the one pan chicken fajitas with mango salsa. I can’t wait to try some of these recipe ideas. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from Tyndale House Publishers for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1496472624/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1496472624/</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="356" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tUJfZMq4-AE" width="428" youtube-src-id="tUJfZMq4-AE"></iframe></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p></div><p><br /> </p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-38809826296086825852024-01-27T20:07:00.003-05:002024-01-27T20:11:57.247-05:00The Fruit Cure: The Story of Extreme Wellness Turned Sour by Jacqueline Alnes Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/71b7GUHn9zL._SL1500_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="527" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/71b7GUHn9zL._SL1500_.jpg" width="527" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>The Fruit Cure</i>, Jacqueline Alnes takes readers through different fruit examples and how raw fruit changed their lives. She was a Division One runner during her freshman year of college. She would run in the rain and in the cold and she didn’t care. She began to experience a bad cough and was diagnosed with bronchitis and they gave her medications. She confessed to collapsing and hit her head and had neurological pain. She struggled to practice and kept wanting to run. She had some success and was able to beat her personal best record in running a 5K. Her symptoms would return again and again and no doctor could fix it. She at one point wound up in a wheelchair for several months and went to an epilepsy center. She sought help from an online community where they used fruit-based techniques to heal their bodies. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In the book, she looked at Esther Honiball and she lived in South Africa. She exercised regularly and was a lecturer who taught Health. She loved to swim and earned championship titles. She developed a cough which turned into night sweats, chest pain, and weight loss. She was diagnosed with tuberculous. She explained how she followed Cornelius and his special fruit diet. It was heartbreaking to read about her struggles in her health and how no doctor could help her. I have been there before too and it’s not fun. I liked how she enclosed example of others who also turned to fruit as a cure. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from Melville House for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p></o:p></p><p><a href=" https://www.amazon.com/Fruit-Cure-Extreme-Wellness-Turned/dp/168589075X"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14pt;">https://www.amazon.com/Fruit-Cure-Extreme-Wellness-Turned/dp/168589075X </span> </a></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-7633301973839147412024-01-27T18:21:00.004-05:002024-01-27T18:21:44.176-05:00The Simple Heart Cure Diet and Meal Plan: 28 Days of Healthy Meals and Over 100 Delicious and Easy Recipes by Chauncey Crandall Book Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81oXDa2FsxL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="535" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T3/images/I/81oXDa2FsxL._SL1500_.jpg" width="535" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>The Simple Heart Cure Diet and Meal Plan</i>, Chauncey Crandall has written a book to assist readers in reducing the effects of major heart disease. He is a cariologist. He begins the book by sharing how 20 years ago he was close to having a heart attack. He experienced pain in his left shoulder and he thought it was just a pulled muscle and no big deal. He went to the ER and discovered he had coronary heart disease and had an artery blockage. His wife instructed him for years to eat better and to lose weight and he didn’t. He almost suffered the deadly consequence for not listening. He decided to change and he also began to help others. He created a diet that mixed the plant-based diet and a Mediterranean diet. This diet will help with managing your high cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and preventing or reversing diabetes. He shared four key principles in successfully completing the diet. One of these is filling up on fiber and this will assist us in staying full longer. He enclosed a shopping list and a sample menu for a whole month. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite features discussed how we can snack on protein to keep us full and it helps our cells to build immunity. They help us to sleep better and feel more rested. Some of the food items are hard boiled eggs, nuts, Greek yogurt, edamame, pumpkin seeds, hummus, just to name a few. He also stated how important it is to eat breakfast and it has helped lots of people to keep weight off. The book also went over fitness and how to improve and increase how much you exercise. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this inspiring diet book to anyone who is struggling with their weight and are at risk of developing heart disease or other health issues. This book is an excellent resource to use to combat their challenges of losing weight. I loved all of the recipe ideas and how easy they appear to be and quick. Some of these was chicken parmesan, peanut butter waffle, beet brownies, strawberry spinach salad, and much more. There is tons of menu planning ideas and it’s super easy to make it a lifestyle of healthy eating. I loved how the book contains some pictures and graphics to lure readers into enjoying the book even more. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from Humanix Books for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Heart-Cure-Diet-Meal/dp/1630061239/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Heart-Cure-Diet-Meal/dp/1630061239/</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-76134317479504980082024-01-21T20:00:00.001-05:002024-01-21T20:00:02.670-05:00Everyday Courage: 50 Devotions to Build a Bold Faith by John Bevere Book Review <p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81-h9o98QyL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="570" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81-h9o98QyL._SL1500_.jpg" width="570" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Everyday Courage</i>, John Bevere has written a new 50-day devotional to assist believers in increasing your faith. There is become a rise in people not standing up for their faith and sharing it boldly. We are afraid of the cancel culture and worried we might offend them. He stated how scripture, Psalm 112:8 encourages us to remember that those who stand in awe of God and are confident and fearless. This can help us to know that the fear of God will shallow up all other fears. God wants to build a strong relationship with each one of us. He explained how we can’t have intimacy with someone if we afraid of them. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite chapters was about Andrew and how he followed Christ despite the risk he faced of being prosecuted. He is the very first very disciple. He boldly told his brother, Peter that they found the Messiah. He did at first flee when Christ was taken and arrested. After Jesus rose from the dead, he preached even if he encountered danger. He was arrested in Greece and was instructed by the governor to stop and he refused. He was sentenced to be crucified and he wanted it to be in the shape of an x. He didn’t feel worthy to be crucified in the same way Jesus was. He was one of the many disciples who were killed for commitment to Christ. Scriptures declare in Philippians 1:6 how Christ has begun a good work in us and how He will complete it. We can all hope to have the courage to live out our faith even if we may face the cost of doing so. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to live courageously and they are wanting to live out a bold like faith. The devotionals are quick and easy to read and very impactful. I immensely loved the wide range of topics such as, “overcoming defeat, wait patiently in the wilderness, a cure for chaos, reject the fear of rejection, and be ready for the storms”. I enjoyed the personal stories he shared about his own life and how he had to trust God for His provision early in his ministry. Each day enclosed a short story, a verse, and a prayer. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from Thomas Nelson for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Courage-Devotions-Build-Faith/dp/1400244161" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Courage-Devotions-Build-Faith/dp/1400244161</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-30345842712287003172024-01-20T21:00:00.004-05:002024-01-20T21:00:39.243-05:00The Mayo Clinic Diabetes Diet, 3rd Edition: A Healthy Eating Program to Improve Your Type 2 Diabetes by Donald D. Hensrud has written a comprehensive to guide readers on how to eat healthier and to exercise more. He explained the most important thing to do to prevent our risk of developing diabetes is to lose weight. If we would lose the weight, we could reverse the process and our blood sugar glucose levels could improve. This book is meant to be a lifestyle change. The book covered the lose it phase and we could potentially lose 6 to 10 pounds in two weeks. You will first need to look at your habits which five to add, break and adopt. The book also discussed how life changing it is when you eat a healthy breakfast and has been linked to better performance in school/work. The next phase is live it and this one discussed how to continue the journey. It will help you set new goals. The book contained helpful hints on eating out, portion size, serving size, activity plan, and what to do when you mess up on your plan. It enclosed new recipe ideas. He revealed how people tend to underestimate how many calories they consume and this is key. Another critical lesson is working up to exercising for 300 minutes a week for five days a week to lose weight. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this book to anyone who is at risk for getting diabetes and that is pretty much everyone! I have recently been warned to watch my sugar and I could get prediabetes. It definitely runs in my family. It was surprising to read about the effects that my body could already be experiencing and it could damage my heart or blood vessels. This book contained tons of information on eating healthier and controlling your blood sugar. Some of my favorite recipes included, California avocado wrap, buffalo zucchini sticks, pita pizza, just to name a few. I liked how it contain chef comments. It was also really helping in how he explained and compared the serving sizes to real life objects where readers can easily measure it out. It also had a helpful chapter that was written like a Q and A. This book will assist you in changing your entire lifestyle to become a healthier you. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from </span>Mayo Clinic Press <span style="color: #333333;">for my honest review.”</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Mayo-Clinic-Diabetes-Diet-3rd/dp/B0BRFKMS3D" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Mayo-Clinic-Diabetes-Diet-3rd/dp/B0BRFKMS3D</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-38365258674984670682024-01-20T17:41:00.001-05:002024-01-20T17:41:10.536-05:00Just Once: A Novel by Karen Kingsbury Book Review<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/812sm6sqArL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="520" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/812sm6sqArL._SL1500_.jpg" width="520" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">In <i>Just Once</i>, Karen Kingsbury has written a novel set in 1941. Irvel Holland is the main character of this book. She is dating a man named, Sam. She secretly was falling in love with his younger brother, Hank. They would walk to school together daily. They had a school level crush developing again. Hank had just ended his serious relationship with Maggie. She was still with Sam but she admitted to not feeling strong in love feelings. She had fallen more in love with Hank and couldn’t tell Sam. She couldn’t make a decision cause Pearl Harbor and the bombings had just begun. She was afraid they would be drafted into war. Hitler was determined to kill the Jews. Sam was drafted into the war. The chemistry and love build between Hank and Irvel while Sam is serving the country. Government official eventually approach her at her school and they are seeking a mathematician to help with breaking the enemy’s codes in the war. She was instructed that she would tell no one at all. She would have to use a cover story that she was going to be a Navy nurse. In the end, she has Alzheimer’s and it wouldn’t be long before she couldn’t even recall her past love. She would forget her spy days in working for the Office of Strategic Services. She realized that her mind was slowly dying and it was getting harder and harder to remember. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend how touching this story was about World War II and Pearl Harbor to any readers who enjoys a heart touching story. It is mixed with romance, childhood lovers, secret lovers, and the big question which love will she choose. I also liked how it touched on an important area, Alzheimer disease and how she related and described it in terms where readers could understand even more about it. Karen is such an amazing storyteller that she can enclosed multiple themes in the book from Alzheimer to women serving their countries. She also has helpful questions at the end of the book. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from </span>Atria Books <span style="color: #333333;">for my honest review.”</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Just-Once-Novel-Karen-Kingsbury/dp/1982104449" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Just-Once-Novel-Karen-Kingsbury/dp/1982104449</a><o:p></o:p></p></div>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-42888967659824301562024-01-20T12:10:00.004-05:002024-01-20T12:10:46.536-05:00Worrying Is Optional: Break the Cycle of Anxiety and Rumination That Keeps You Stuck by Ben Eckstein LCSW Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71IxYwhz5cL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="533" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71IxYwhz5cL._SL1500_.jpg" width="533" /></a></div><br /> <p></p><p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Worrying Optional</i>, Ben Eckstein LCSW has written a brand-new book to assist with dealing with anxiety and worrying. He is a therapist who helps clients and he is witnessed a rise in people struggling with worrying. He explained how we have to learn to coexist with it and not all of it is bad. He described the difference between the noun and the verb: worry and worrying. He defined worry as, “initial thought, the doubt that arises in your mind, the awareness of uncertainty.” He explained how worrying needs to be considered active and we get to choose if we do so. He also looked at how anxiety becomes problematic when we respond to it in ways that leads us to amplify it. He explored the five stages of the anxiety cycle. He also looked at five reasons you can’t change and their rationales. He ends the book with ways to break the cycle of worrying and breaking habits. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite chapters discussed values and sorting them into three categories. Theses included acceptance, bravery, commitment, courage, integrity, family, self-respect, just to name a few. He careful clarified how we must not wait on life and for our thoughts and feelings to change before we get to catching after the life that we want. He shared how we can move towards or away from our values. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this helpful book to anyone who is consumed by fear, worrying, and anxiety. I liked how he went into detail about the difference between worrying and worry. I appreciated how he tried to help readers to get to the root of the anxiety and break the cycle of worry. I can tell he has seen a lot of clients who struggle with anxiety and this book provides a way for us to start living the life that we always wanted to. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">"I received this book free from New Harbinger Publications for my honest review.”</span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 13.5pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Worrying-Optional-Break-Anxiety-Rumination/dp/1648482147/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Worrying-Optional-Break-Anxiety-Rumination/dp/1648482147/</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-86413436560819649472024-01-14T18:26:00.002-05:002024-01-14T18:41:37.857-05:00Geared For Life: Making the Shift Into Your Full Potential by Bryce Kenny Book Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Jpua32nKL._SL1500_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="518" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Jpua32nKL._SL1500_.jpg" width="518" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Geared for Life</i>, Bryce Kenny walks readers through the seven gears he uses to live by how he utilizes each gear and learned to shift into his purpose. He is a Monster Jam driver and in 2021 he set a Guinness world record for the fastest time. He begins the book by looking at how he got out of neutral. In 2013, he was fired from his first big job and he didn’t see it coming. They stated how they didn’t see him as committed to the mission of the business and they would be terminated. They refused to provide more of a real reason as to why they choose to fire him. He told them he wouldn’t leave without a reason as to why so they escorted him out of the office. He had to go home and explain to his wife that he lost his job during their first year of marriage. As lucky would have it the Friday before, he actually had an interview at an executive search firm. They had met prior at a training seminar and he had more questions for Bryce. He received a phone call to come interview one day before. He ended up never missing one paycheck. He shared this truth, “what you believe at your core will determine when you get back into motion.” He explained our beliefs can serve as gears and even when we go through bad situations, we can learn to shift through them. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite chapters was about focus and being able to see through the windshield of life. In this chapter, he encouraged readers to become the best version of themselves. He shared how in 2019 he was forced to deal with his feeling of being inadequate and he wasn’t winning on the track. He was struggling with impostor syndrome. He was currently going through the motions and not adding any value to his partnership with Great Clips. He knew he had to make a change and he began to focus on who he wanted to become. He revealed the importance of faith and how this isn’t just spiritual practice. It can also mean believing in something and acting on that belief and taking the necessary steps. He admitted to not really caring for social media but he knew he needed to work on his social media presence. He decided to get creative and he would post videos and do voice overs of what he felt when his monster truck crashed. One of the videos even hit 5 million views. He used all of this to example how he become a better version of himself. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this superb book from a Monster Jam driver who compares life principles to the different gears used in racing. I liked how he covered behind the scenes to many of his racing adventures and it gave a glimpse into this life. He relates everything back to impactful lessons we can use and apply to real life. I liked how he helped readers to get over their fear of failure and to get prepared for life. The book had a mixture of funny stories such as burnouts and how to avoid the cops. It also had more serious discussions such as being built for others and this led to him founding his organization and they raise funds to help families. I enjoyed how he enclosed tune-up questions at the end of each chapter to assist you in getting geared up for life. <o:p></o:p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; Forrestal has written a book walking readers through the process of what to do when first diagnosed with cancer. He is an emergency medical doctor and has firsthand experience in helping to treat patients. As of the writing of this book in 2019, there is an estimated 1,762,450 of Americans who will be diagnosed with cancer. 14,483,830 people are living with cancer. 15 million are currently in remission or cured. In the book, he shared a heartbreaking story about his grandfather and how he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic disease. Kerry was seven years old at the time and he recalls a phone conversation with him explaining to him that he was just hit in the head with a brick and that he would be okay. His grandfather served in the war but he couldn’t stand to be honest with him and explain the truth that he really had cancer. In the book, he first begins by exploring what causes cancer and how each cell varies and can become damaged. He clarified how the doctors classify the TNM system of staging cancers. The book will explore how to manage the budget, what to expect when doing the tests, hospice, funeral arrangements, how to manage our emotions, just to name a few. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">One of the impactful chapters discussed who to tell and who not to tell. He shared how if you are up for a promotion or a new position at work, we can choose to be careful about what we choose to tell. He shared how we may to take into consideration what stage we are in and how long recovery is expected to take. There are times where it would be wise to reveal it at work and not wise. He included helpful tips on helping you to decide who to tell and who not to. He also went into detail about the ADA act and if the cancer would be classified as a protected disability. This was shocking to read about how some cancers are and some aren’t. He also included helpful advice in how to tell kids and other loved ones about our cancer diagnosis. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is battling cancer or they have a loved one that currently is. I lost my grandmother a few years ago to cancer and had a few other family members who had gone through cancer. I wish I would have had this impactful book years ago. I thought the author was very knowledge in the medical field and he tries to assist readers through their cancer battle. It covered a vast field of information and tons of research. The book also enclosed a deep dive section, storyteller, soapbox, pro tip, lingo alert, and special QR codes filled with more info and some are videos. There is a helpful checklist before you began the fight against cancer. I liked how he also included financial spreadsheets and will help readers to budget. I also thought the healthcare section was very beneficial and it covered a power of attorney and the different types, DNI, living will, and medical history. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from the author,</span><span face="Arial, sans-serif"> <span style="color: #333333;">for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></span><u1:p></u1:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><b><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span><u1:p></u1:p></b><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Crushing-Patients-Complete-Managing-Diagnosis/dp/1737385368/ref=sr_1_2?qid=1705250833&refinements=p_27%3ADr.+Kerry+A+Forrestal+MD%2FMBA&s=books&sr=1-2&text=Dr.+Kerry+A+Forrestal+MD%2FMBA" style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">https://www.amazon.com/Crushing-Patients-Complete-Managing-Diagnosis/dp/1737385368/</span></a></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Crushing-Patients-Complete-Managing-Diagnosis/dp/1737385376" style="color: #954f72;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">https://www.amazon.com/Crushing-Patients-Complete-Managing-Diagnosis/dp/1737385376</span></a><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-34248491494324862772024-01-13T18:45:00.002-05:002024-01-13T18:45:10.040-05:00Is Jesus the Way? Jesus is the true Son of God and He has come to provide us a way to everlasting life. They are both equals and they both share the same nature. The book discussed marriage and the roles of wives and husbands and how Christ loves the church. He also explored the different miracles of Christ such as the sick man at the pool, Bethesda who was waiting for his chance for healing. The book explained how Jesus is also God. He also spent the last section of the book revealing that Jesus died for our sins and how we can all have everlasting life. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">This book enclosed one of my favorite Biblical stories: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The king, Nebuchadnezzar commanded everyone to fall down and worship the golden image or they would be thrown into the fiery furnace. They shared how God will deliver them from the fiery furnace and they wouldn’t have any harm come to them. They wouldn’t serve any other gods and this angered him. He decided to turn the furnace up 7 times. They were placed in the fiery furnace and while they were in there, they witnessed how there was four men in the furnace. The fourth man was Jesus. When they were removed there was again only three and none of them was burnt or smelled like smoke. The king eventually saw the light and gave a new order that Israel was allowed to worship God. Mack explained how we can see this important message in this. The message is that God will bless us if we are faithful to Him and He can do it in front of our enemies and by using the power of our enemies to do so. He also shared how the king ate grass like a cow for 7 years and he became a believer of Christ. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to learn more about Jesus and His way and who He is. This book enclosed tons of references to scriptures and was very Biblical based. I liked how he covered some of Jesus’s miracles, explained how Jesus is the Son of God, and how He died for our sins. It was a nice overview on some of the stories of the Bible. I believe this book will provide readers with an inquisitive to seek more of who Christ is by reading His word and growing in our relationship with Him. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">"I received this book free from the author,</span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <span style="color: #333333;">Mack Cordell Moore for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span><u1:p></u1:p></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><u1:p><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></u1:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Way-Mack-Cordell-Moore-ebook" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Way-Mack-Cordell-Moore-ebook</a><o:p></o:p></span></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-73052284950637733392024-01-13T16:56:00.007-05:002024-01-13T16:56:49.463-05:00The Undeniable Power of Movement: The Irrefutable Power Habits Of Elite Athletes, Leaders, & High Performers To Achieve Any Goal by Nicole Mott Book Review <p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71LuoxZNLDL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="518" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71LuoxZNLDL._SL1500_.jpg" width="518" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">In <i>The Undeniable Power of Movement</i>, Nicole Mott explored the ways in which elite leader and performers are able to catch after their goals. Movement is the secret compound to how they complete their tasks and reach their goals. She created a mentality movement company. This book will try and assist people with self-development, purpose, health, discipline, reducing distractions, mindset, and much more. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">She shared how on November 26, 2006 that her son, Caleb became very sick and developed tics. He was eventually diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome. He would make motor and verbal tics. He loved to play soccer but he had to learn to dealt with external distractions. He was taught different behavioral therapy to manage it. He would openly speak about it to people around him, where people would understand what he faced. He chose to try out for a major league soccer development academy team and he was selected for the team. The club made him change his role to defensive and he struggled with this new challenge. Tourette’s caused him to overthink everything and he would often ask for feedback when he made a mistake. She used her son’s example to explain the power of movement. The two most important things we need to remember is how we must focus and be discipline. Both of these will help you to reach your goals. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">One of my favorite chapters was about focus and giving our all to the task currently at hand. Multitasking is really harming us and we are wasting time. There is also more of a chance that an error can occur. She explained how this needs to be looked at as a red flag hiring issue. Multitasking often makes us have to reread meeting notes because we missed things for a failure to actively listen. She shared how studies have found that it can also cause a decrease in cognitive performance and affect the gray matter in our brains. She also explored the impact we can have when we choose to use the word no. We can explain that we don’t have the time because we already have a priority. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to continue their movement and to propel into their future. I loved how inspirational this book was and how she taught readers how reduce distractions and to focus more on their goals. It will assist readers in sticking with their goals and planning out their calendar. I thought it was very beneficial in reading about multitasking and I hope businesses and managers would follow this and begin to discourage this practice and help their workers to focus on one task at a time. I also liked how she enclosed questions at the end of each chapter to go deeper into the chapters. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">"I received this book free from the publisher,</span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <span style="color: #333333;">Mentality Movement Press for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span><u1:p></u1:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span><u1:p></u1:p></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><u1:p><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></u1:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Undeniable-Power-Movement-Irrefutable-Performers/dp/B0C9SNDW3G/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Undeniable-Power-Movement-Irrefutable-Performers/dp/B0C9SNDW3G/</a><o:p></o:p></span></p></div>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-5832481871602957682024-01-13T12:51:00.003-05:002024-01-13T12:52:19.080-05:00The Pathway to Success: Letting God Lead You to a Life of Meaning and Purpose by Joyce Meyer Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91GA77ul+UL._SL1500_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="536" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91GA77ul+UL._SL1500_.jpg" width="536" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>The Pathway to Success</i>, Joyce Meyer explored the real meaning of being successful and understanding what God considers success. The world thinks we are successful if we have a good career, become famous, being wealthy, and receiving recognition. Scriptures explain that we are to be in the world but not of the world. A number of people we view as successful really are struggling with addictions behind the scenes and have poor relationships. Joyce teaches readers that our identity isn’t found in what we do. It is instead found in whose we are. Our true value is in our relationship with Christ. She walks readers through how we must first discover what’s in our hearts and what our purpose is. In the book, she opened up about her journey to her ministry. She included her story about her abuse, first marriage, divorce, marrying Dave, and growing her ministry through the different stages. <o:p></o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">My favorite chapter was about words and how our thought affect our success. It first begins in our thoughts and then they will produce the words that will come out of our mouths. It has been estimated that the average person has 6,000 thoughts a day and often it is mixed with both positive and negative thoughts. We get to choose which we think about on a daily basis. She explained how critical it is to be extremely careful in how we talk about things and the danger in not allowing them to match up in our prayer life. We must pray and believe that good things will happen. We can see ourselves as successful and believe it. She teaches readers on how to rely on our faith and to speak words that will exercise faith and not allowing fear to control us. I also liked how she enclosed a special section about people who have succeeded and tips on how others have been able to do so. One of the ways is turning failure into a fresh start. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who ready to get on the path to success. In immensely loved the core message of this book and how God sees our success and what He views as being successful. I loved how she explained the importance of putting God first in our lives and how this will impact and change our entire lives. Another impactful lesson is the section on ten things God’s word says about us. These are very powerful scriptures to let get down into our spirit and let it change us. This book contains a vast knowledge of what is means to be successful. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">"I received this book free from the publisher, Faith Works for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"> <o:p></o:p></p></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b>If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Pathway-Success-Letting-Meaning-Purpose/dp/1546029222/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Pathway-Success-Letting-Meaning-Purpose/dp/1546029222/</a><o:p></o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-78542456256511297162024-01-07T13:21:00.002-05:002024-01-07T13:21:08.430-05:00Niching Up: The Narrower the Market, the Bigger the Prize by Chris Dreyer Book Review <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/71kC3MDTUxL._SL1500_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="517" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/71kC3MDTUxL._SL1500_.jpg" width="517" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Niching Up</i>, Chris Dreyer explored how we can discover our niche, attract more clients, how to eliminate waste, raise your fees, and handing referrals. He begins the book by explaining how he was working as a full-time basketball coach and detention supervisor. In 2006, he started doing a side job of affiliate marketing. The first website he created was lose your double chin. He made it sort of as a job and it actually made money and was a top-rated site for double chins. He ended up making over 80 different sites and made some money off of them. He started his digital marketing agency and he had a dream of working in the legal industry. He became his own SEO agency. He discovered his niche and was to step into his dream. He also shared the fear of niching and how people have a fear of saying yes to one thing can lead to us missing out on something better. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">He begins the book by discussing the Attack of the Clones, which is Star Wars movie. The movie features tons of lightsaber action scenes and battles occurring. There was one fight that happened that shifted everything. In the distance, there was a random purple lightsaber of Mace Windu. Samuel L. Jackson plays the part in the movie and he was the one who had the niche to ask for a purple lightsaber because he wanted to be different and to stand out. He wanted to easily recognized. He used this exampled to explain how when we are niching and we are doing something that hasn’t been done before we are causing us to stand out from others. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">Another impactful chapter discussed premium pricing and walks readers through how they we can move through different price points. When we become an expert in our field, we can eventually move to charging more for our services. One of these reasons is because our customer will pay for more based on our experience and expertise. He explained how we can collect data on the industry and to see how compare to us. We can also test the market to see what they will support with our higher rates. He teaches readers how important it is to increase the value of what we are offering. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to found out their niche and to grow their business. I like how he uses a lot of guy type shows and movies throughout the book to compare some of these included Star Wars and Justified. I immensely love how he taught readers how to increase their premium pricing and the stages they can use to figure out how to effectively charge based on our expertise. I liked how he described referrals and how we can create and develop relationships that encourage referrals. The conclusion of the book was very beneficial because he broke down everything and how he related personally with each chapter. It was a nice quick overview of the entire message of the book. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from the publisher, Lioncrest Publishing for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b>If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Niching-Up-Narrower-Market-Bigger-ebook/dp/B0BGQNLJ6N/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Niching-Up-Narrower-Market-Bigger-ebook/dp/B0BGQNLJ6N/</a><o:p></o:p></p> <p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-22450702258636044582024-01-06T11:52:00.005-05:002024-01-06T11:52:57.778-05:00Purpose: Design a Community & Change Your Life---A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Your Purpose and Making It Matter by Gina Bianchini Book Review <p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/91HxUm6TY7L._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="533" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/91HxUm6TY7L._SL1500_.jpg" width="533" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Purpose</i>, Gina Bianchini explored how to take your purpose and use it for the community benefit and have an everlasting impact on the people around you. She shared how Martinus Evans was called fat by his doctor and he instead changed his life around and is not a marathon runner. Nick Jonas, Sarah Lucas, Juliet be Baubigny has used their struggled with type 1 diabetes and they have built a community helping others. She included key examples on how others found their purpose. In the book, she shared how she helped launch social media network, Ning. This means peace in Chinese. This allowed users to create their own entire social media network not just a profile. She is also the founder of Mighty, and her company helps others to discover their purpose and to how we can touch our community. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">One of my favorite chapters discussed digital communities and how important focus and clarity is when designing a community. She explained the three key features to create a digital community. You must first have an idea to bring people together in a sense of community and purpose. The next step is inviting people to join the community. The next challenge is introducing them to one another and having an atmosphere where they can all interaction. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I would recommend this helpful book to anyone who is wanting to discover their purpose and in turn also to use their purpose for the greater of their community. I thought this book was a little different in the way it approached the topic of purpose. She chose to help reader understand how to create and design a community and use your greater purpose to help and connect with others. I also enjoyed the chapter on quests and having activities to connect members together and explore different activities. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">"I received this book free from the publisher, Mighty Books for my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><b>If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Purpose-Community-Life-Step-Step-ebook/dp/B0BNFFY6Y7/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Purpose-Community-Life-Step-Step-ebook/dp/B0BNFFY6Y7/</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-11278481851299236272023-12-31T17:11:00.005-05:002023-12-31T17:12:18.020-05:00Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots by Reba McEntire Book Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/912o+FyKLkL._SL1500_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="622" height="735" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/912o+FyKLkL._SL1500_.jpg" width="571" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">In <i>Not That Fancy</i>, Reba McEntire opened up about her life and lessons that she learned along the way. She grew up in Oklahoma and her father was a rancher and he actively participated in the rodeo. Her father taught her the importance of working hard and she even had to work on the raunch when she was attending school. She shared how when she first started in the music business, she believed that once she got the record deal then she would go on tour and make big money. The first time she heard her song on the radio she thought everything would change. She quickly learned that wasn’t the case. She spent 7 years traveling around playing everywhere she could. Her first hit song didn’t happen until, “Can’t Even Get the Blues” was released. It took her 13 singles from 5 albums before she ever had a number one. Her first headlined show she had 800 people show up and she still ended up losing money because she didn’t’ sell enough tickets. She explained how determination was taught to her from an early age and how she also helped pass it down to her son, Shelby. He is a race car driver and had to also be determined to get going when times get tough. In the book, she also discussed her acting roles, her divorce, how she met Rex (her new boyfriend), her new restaurant, some recipes, and most importantly lessons she learned. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">Another heartbreaking part of the book was about nobody goes it alone. This one discussed the dreaded topic of when Reba lost some of her band members in a tragic accident. In March 1991, a plane crashed killing half of her band. She used this chapter to walk people through grief and the process. She shared how none of us will get through life without losing someone we love. She included a helpful gift idea section to help a friend who is hurting. She also shared about how she lost her mother in March of 2020 when the world was shutting down and afterwards admits she almost quit singing. But her sisters helped her to refocus and slowing down helped her to regain her passion. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;">I enjoyed reading this book and learning even more about Reba. I have always enjoyed listening to her and watching her on TV and in movies. She is truly an amazing performer. I loved the recipes in this book and how southern style she kept a lot of them. Some were her own and others were from Shelby’s wife, Kix Brooks from Brooks & Dunn, Rex, Reba’s Place (restaurant), Katy McEntire, Chris Rich (co-star in Reba), and much more. I loved how the recipes included a difficulty rating which I thought was a little different from most cookbooks. I’m curious to try Reba’s Place Tequila Lime Vinaigrette. I haven’t had the chance to go to her new restaurant but I hope too someday! Some of the recipes I want to try is, porch day lemonade, shishito peppers and okra with tequila lime vinaigrette, Rex’s pecan smoked beer-can chicken tacos, onion and jalapeno haystacks, Nashville hot chicken, and so much more! I also enjoyed the chapter on talking to God and how He has changed her life and it was inspiring to read the positivity in this and she helps readers to get to know Him. I also liked how she explained the story behind the song, “The Nights the Lights Went Out in Georgia” and fans will get to hear about Reba was able to rerecord this popular song. The pictures in this book are awesome and very colorful and helps to make this book one to keep and reread. There is an abundance of lessons readers can learn from this Fancy hit singer. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from the publisher, Harper Celebrate<span style="background: repeat white;"> for </span>my honest review.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><span style="color: #333333;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Not-That-Fancy-Lessons-Dusting/dp/1400238250" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Not-That-Fancy-Lessons-Dusting/dp/1400238250</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="428" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yQ_iDmEloJk" width="515" youtube-src-id="yQ_iDmEloJk"></iframe></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in;"><br /></p>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785621488293336754.post-70929797151668088482023-12-31T12:36:00.000-05:002023-12-31T12:36:00.557-05:00The Fire of Perfect Love: Intimacy with God for a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Unshakable Faith by Steven and Rene Springer Book Review<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/71Tw1OO2FSL._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="518" height="800" src="https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_792452-T1/images/I/71Tw1OO2FSL._SL1500_.jpg" width="518" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">In <i>The Fire of Perfect Love</i>, Steven and Rene Springer explored the importance of having a fiery love as the main goal of your life. They begin the book by sharing how the distortion of love is becoming common. We are losing our sight of God, there is a lack of loyalty, no real intimacy, immoral sexual behavior, catching after wealth, family dysfunction, racism, and much more. A large number of people are looking for love and acceptance wherever we can find it. They revealed how we need to love God first and when we experience this type of love this will in turn cause us to love others. They included a helpful list on how Father God expressed His love to us. These included, “gives life, is intimate, delights, generous, makes everything beautiful, protects and gives freedom to choose, redeems, clothes and covers”, and much more. They also took it a step farther and covered Jesus and the Holy Spirit and how they also express love to us. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p><br /></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">One of my favorite chapters was about our identity and how many of us are lure into finding our identity in titles, labels, and causes. They explained the difference between our being and relating. They shared how Martha found her identity by who she is and not by what she does. We need to also focus more on our seeing ourselves as holy and righteousness. We can let our old sinful nature to die. Steven also shared about how he had a son out of wedlock before he became a Christian. He explained how the world would refer to him as illegitimate or a mistake. He clarified how we are all created in love and Christ destined us and planned for us. They explored how when we know who we are in Christ, then we will display boldness, rest, inheritance, and Kingdom authority.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;">I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready for love to transform and change their entire lives. I loved how they touched on our identity in Christ and how we can navigate the journey to perfect love. This book can assist readers into stepping into their nature as a saint and become fearless. I liked how each chapter enclosed journey to perfect love and it contained declarations, a prayer, or questions. This book can help you to share the love and spread it around. There are also helpful videos to accompany and go along with the message of the book. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><b>Check out the website below:<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.globalpresence.com/perfectlove.html" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.globalpresence.com/perfectlove.html</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;">"I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”</span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #333333;">If you would like to purchase a copy, check it out on Amazon.com:</span></b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 9pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; margin: 0in; text-align: start;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Fire-Perfect-Love-Intimacy-Unshakable/dp/0800763289/" style="color: #954f72;">https://www.amazon.com/Fire-Perfect-Love-Intimacy-Unshakable/dp/0800763289/</a><o:p></o:p></p></div>Andrew Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01891603409350935253noreply@blogger.com0
