The Great Good Thing: A Secular Jew Comes to Faith in Christ by Andrew Klavan Book Review

In The Great Good Thing, Andrew Klavan shared his life story and how he grew up to be Jewish. He didn’t really believe in Christ. Throughout the book, he walks readers through how he came to discover Christ and how he built a relationship with Him. Andrew Klavan grew up in the luxurious suburbs, Great Neck of Long Island. His parents taught him that he was supposed to dislike the town and not to be a part of it. His father was a DJ in New York. He would treat Andrew different from his three brothers. His father would ridicule him, hit him, and he believed that his father was always against him. His brothers even noticed that he would be treated differently. When he was caught reading the New Testament part of the Bible, his father freaked out and was very angry and he told him that he would be disowned from the family.

From a young age, Andrew was always a dreamer and he would craft stories to help him deal with his life. His father would constantly give him advice and introduce him to people who would purposely misguide him. He would try and sabotage when Andrew was typing up a story and he hated the idea of Andrew writing a story. Andrew eventually wrote a couple of famous novels, “True Crime”, “Don’t Say a Word”, “Empire of Lies”, “The Homelanders Series”, and “The Mindwar Trilogy”.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who enjoys reading an autobiography about how a man came to know Christ. I have read the entire The Homelanders Series, The Mindwar Trilogy, as well, as a few of his other standalone books. I was curious to see how one of my favorite writers became an author and how he pursued his career. I was shocked to read about how harsh his father was on him and how bad he treated him because he was afraid his son was going to outshine him. I also connected with how open he was in revealing how he battled depression and suicide. I love how he shared how he came to know Christ and how he began to write Christian fiction novels.

Dear Andrew,

I am the founder of #HelpAfricanAlbinos and write to you kindly requesting your support because you, as a Christian and as an Amazon Top Reviewer, are a person who I believe can make a difference.

“Then She Was Born” is a genre busting book with strong Christian values and also an international human rights campaign endorsed by Pope Francis, the Dalai Lama and eleven Nobel Peace laureates.

It is an independently published work of fiction that meets the same standards as books published by mainstream publishers. It is translated from Italian by an American professional literary translator and edited by a renowned American poet.

You are a Christian and an Amazon Top Reviewer and your honest review of the book (but not mandatory) would allow this story to become noticed and this campaign to succeed.

The e-book is free for Kindle Unlimited and Prime members and, if you wish, I can send it to you as a gift.

I will mention your name in the e-book in the “thanks” section and your review, if it is posted in a blog, will be showed on the official website (HelpAfricanAlbinos.com) with a link attached.

Please give a chance to these children, the least among all others.

God bless you and your family.

Thank you for your time,

Cristiano
