Ghost Town Living: Mining for Purpose and Chasing Dreams at the Edge of Death Valley by Brent Underwood Book Review

Ghost Town Living is a story of Brent Underwood and how he purchased Cerro Gordo. It was listed at $925,000 and he used most of his life savings to save this historical place. This was an abandoned ghost town above Death Valley. This town was once the largest silver mine located in California. It used to house 4000 people decades ago. He shared the history of the mine and how William Burro Schmidt one day decided that he was tired of going around the mountain with his gold ore. He wanted to go through it. He built a tunnel and the deeper you go the lower the ceiling become. The mines produced refined silver and is estimated at half a billion dollars’ worth. He also has an active YouTube channel showing the town and the adventures he faced. There has been earthquakes, fires, and floods. This book was very interesting in showcasing the history and his idea of saving this place.
