American Underdog Trailer

Short Synopsis: American Underdog tells the inspirational true story of Kurt Warner (Zachary Levi), who went from a stockboy at a grocery store to a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback. The film centers on Warner’s unique story and years of challenges and setbacks that could have derailed his aspirations to become an NFL player – but just when his dreams seemed all but out of reach, it is only with the support of his wife, Brenda (Anna Paquin) and the encouragement of his family, coaches, and teammates that Warner perseveres and finds the strength to show the world the champion that he already is. American Underdog is an uplifting story that demonstrates that anything is possible when you have faith, family and determination.

I’m super excited about this new Christian faith-based movie coming out on December 25. The trailer was just released today. It’s based on a true story of football player, Kurt Warner. I loved hearing about how he was a stockboy dreaming about playing professional football. He was considered an underdog and wouldn’t ever make it. The officials didn’t believe in him and that he was capable of accomplishing his dream. I believe this will be a very touching movie and I can’t wait to watch the film. I have always enjoyed the acting of Zachary Levi and Dennis Quaid and I think they will bring a special touch to the film.

Courageous Legacy Movie Review and Giveaway

Courageous Legacy is a relaunch of the popular movie. Ten years later, the movie is being rereleased as a special edition in theaters. There is also a brand-new ending and a few additional scenes. They are releasing it in 4k video quality along with better sound.

Courageous Legacy follows four men who happen to be law enforcement officers. The first main officer is Adam Mitchell and in the first few scenes’ watchers witness how much he connects and loves his nine-year-old daughter, Emily. He is very distant from his fifteen-year-old son, Dylan. His son loves to run and play video games. Adam has no interest or passion to try running. Officer Nathan Hayes never knew his biological father and his father has multiple women in his life. He explained how not having a dad hurt his life. He did have a neighbor who was his mentor and he acted like his father. He has three children and one of them is wanting to start dating. David Thomson is a younger cop and he is single and his parents separated and this affected his life. He also has an ex-girlfriend and they have a child together. Shane Fuller is divorced like his own parents and he is raising his son with his ex. The movie also covered Javier Martinez who is an immigrant struggling finding work and he begs God for help after being laid off. He eventually started to help build a backyard project with Adam. There is a major tragedy that occurs in the movie. A drunk driver kills Adam’s daughter. After this event, he decides he has to connect on a deeper level with his only son left. He has an idea to craft and design a resolution for fathers to become the spiritual leaders the Bible calls them to be.

I would recommend this awesome remaster version of the film to anyone who especially enjoyed watching the first edition. I believe seeing the update scenes and ending will bring a refresher to their lives. I would also recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen the original film. This film is a wonderful film showcasing the importance of fathers and the negative effect it can have on our lives if we are lacking a father role. I loved how the movie included new scenes and a bonus ending to show where they are ten years later. I felt this movie helped with the updated aspect. I loved seeing how all of the different fathers presented in the film were able to change their lives around and become better fathers. The ending scene brought a lot of closure to the film 10 years later. It will tug at your heart strings and might even bring tears to your eyes. It was a very touching small reunion of everyone and it was interesting to see where everyone ended up.

God’s Not Dead: We the People Movie Review

God’s Not Dead: We the People is the latest movie in the popular franchise. This one still covered the life of Reverend Dave White and his adventures. One day a government inspector shows up at a homeschool family, Rebecca McKinnon (played by Christian recording artist, Francesca Battistelli) house to shadow and to see what they are teaching their children. She hates what she finds and decides to turn them in. Rebecca and her husband have to appear before Judge Neeley (played by Fox news, Jeanine Pirro). She threatens to have them arrested if they don’t compile with the required curriculum. There is also a group of homeschool parents being targeted by the government. Reverend White is determined to help the homeschool families take a stand against. He decides to go all the way to Washington and appear before a congressional hearing. He explained how the goal of the government is to keep us all divided and we won’t be paying attention to what is really happening around us. He takes a strong stance in reminding the elected leaders they are supposed to be for the people.

I would recommend this awesome movie to anyone who enjoyed the previous films. But even if you haven’t seen the other three films you can still pick up and understand the storyline. I have watched all four films now and they just keep getting better and better. I do think this movie on losing free speech is a very timely release. I thought this film had a unique aspect and I loved how they looked at the homeschool curriculum and they had the government trying to control what they teach. I loved the acting of Francesca Battistelli and I have always enjoyed her music and I felt they picked a wonderful actress for the role. She also homeschools her own children in real life. The movie is also based on some headlines from the news. I really liked the different arguments they did in the movie and I truly believe this movie could occur in real life and could possibly even be worst in court regarding homeschool. I also enjoyed how the films included two different storyline scenes between a father and a daughter and a redemption. I won’t share everything but that surprise but I think it added a special dynamic to the story.

It’s on the Way: Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams and Prayers by Lisa Osteen Comes Book Review

In It’s on the Way, Lisa Osteen Comes has written a book about how to handle the difficult seasons of waiting for a dream or prayer to come to pass. She explained how our dreams have an appointed time to come to pass and we don’t need to get discouraged or feel helpless. Some of these dreams can include: writing a book, starting a business, getting married, having a child, and pretty much any other dream you have been praying about. She described how in scripture how no one has witnessed or can even imagine what God has prepared for people that love God see 1 Cor. 2:9. She encouraged readers to keep praying. She reminded readers that God is listening to our prayers from the moment that we first prayed.

She begins the book by sharing how she was born with a severe birth defect. Her parents were told she would never walk or talk. Her parents believed that God could heal her and by age one she was healed and completely normal. She also opened up about how satan tried to kill her again years later in 1990, when she was working at her father’s church John Osteen. She was opening the mail when a pipe bomb went off with 10-inch shrapnel nails inside the box. She miraculously wasn’t killed and she only suffered from minor injuries.

In the book, she shared how she had a dream of having children and they struggled with infertility. She revealed how her and her husband would declare over their lives, scripture verses and the promises of God about children. She revealed how they made sure when they were getting a house that they would have enough room for children. They also purchased a piano because they believed one of their kids would play it. She also shared how they received in the mail two diapers and they both stood on the promise that they would be having twins. It took them eight years for the dream to be fulfilled and they were unexpectedly able to adopt twin girls and a son from Mercy Multiplied without having to apply through the adoption process. One of her daughter’s also plays the piano and this was like God was preparing their home ahead of time.

I would recommend this amazing book to anyone who is looking for encouragement on not giving up on our dreams. This book is a wonderful reminder that God is always with us even in our waiting period and our current season is temporary. I immensely loved reading about Lisa’s story and how her parents were faithful and believed that God could heal their child. I liked how she shared how her own mother; Dodie was also healed from cancer. She also touched on her divorce, her remarriage, infertility issues, and much more. One of my favorite lessons, she discussed was about the six ways satan steals from the Word of God. One of the most powerful ways that he uses is we listen too much to the voices of others. She also revealed how people told her when they were struggling having children that maybe it wasn’t in God’s will for them. She chose to not listen to them but rather stand on the promises of God. I liked how in the book, she looked at the story with the woman and issue of the blood and how she didn’t listen to the voices of others. I appreciated how she reminded readers not to let anyone talk you out of the promises of God.

Roar Like a Lion: 90 Devotions to a Courageous Faith by Levi Lusko Book Review and Giveaway

In Roar like a Lion, Levi Lusko has written a brand-new children’s 90 days devotional book. He begins the book by revealing how Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He described how a lion club starts out blind and then grows up and learns how to survive in wilderness. Each day had a scripture verse, a short story, and a “did you know” or a “get ready to roar”. He also shared how he wrote this book in the honor of his daughter, Lenya who passed away after suffering from a severe asthma attack while they were wrapping Christmas gifts.

The first devotional was on 2 Timothy 1:7 and this one discussed how God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear. He gave us the spirit of power, love, and self-control. This devotional covered how a lion isn’t afraid. They roar for three reasons: “let other lions know where they are, show how powerful they are, and to scare away an enemy”. He goes on to explained how we also need to roar to, “let other believers know where you are and they aren’t alone, show how powerful God is, to scare off your enemy, the devil”. He illustrated how a lion is brave and how we can also receive the strength and power from God.

In the book, he also opened up about his own life stories in order to help children to understand that they aren’t alone and he faced different things growing up as well. He explained how he was picked on a lot in school and bullied. He admitted that he had buckteeth, wore glasses, had asthma, and he tried playing sports but had trouble breathing so he wasn’t every good. He shared that he was called names and he struggled with fitting in. He didn’t make good friends until he discovered a group of Christians and they tried to get to know him and they became his true friends. He went on to explain bullying and how we can feel like the world is against us and this is in face a life from the devil. He shared how we are all worthy of love.

I would recommend this awesome children’s book to all children but especially to the ones aged 4 to 12. I immensely loved in the book how he looked at the different aspects of faith and how we can become brave and have the courage to reach out to others and make a difference. I also liked how some of the days included ways we can be kind to someone else. I also enjoyed how they included colorful illustrations to keep the readers engaged. I also liked how they included special ship anchors hidden throughout the illustrations that readers get to try and find. This book would make a great devotional for children and it will assist them in growing in their faith.

Authentically, Uniquely You: Living Free from Comparison and the Need to Please by Joyce Meyer Book Review

In Authentically, Uniquely You, Joyce Meyer has written a brand-new book about learning to love yourself and to embrace our unique self. She shared how the first step is learning to love who we are and this will help us on our path to becoming authentic. She explored how scriptures teaches us that we are supposed to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and this is shown at least eight times in the Bible. She goes on to explain how if we don’t love ourselves then we are rejecting God’s love for us. This will also prevent us from loving others. She personally shared how she struggled with loving others and God finally revealed to her how she didn’t love herself in a healthy way. After over 40 years of not liking who she was, she spent a whole year studying and confessing God’s love for herself. She admitted how she was a people pleaser and she struggled with being manipulated by others. She opened up about we need to follow first Peter 3:11 and we are instructed to pursue peace and seek it with God, our neighbors, and with ourselves.

She also shared the power of rejection and how if we reject ourselves, this will greatly affect our lives. This will also cause to act out in ways that will confirm our beliefs that they will in fact reject us. She explained how fear will cause us to lose our authenticity when we are desperately trying to please them and make them happy. She described her childhood and growing up with a father who was very controlling. He had to control the house, the TV, what time they were expected to be in bed and woke up, the meals they would eat, and who their friends could be. She revealed how this damaged her self image and led her to not be satisfied. She stated how we need to rely on what God says about us and not on what others have told us who we are. She listed a few scriptures such as, “apple of His eye, chosen by Him, special, chosen people, royal priesthood, His love is everlasting”, and much more.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to love themselves and they are tired of trying to be everything to everyone else. I immensely loved how Joyce taught on countless principles and included scriptures to back up how we can become our authentic self. I also loved how she looked at a list that we can reflect on to accept ourselves. One of my favorite scriptures passages she explored was the one on Numbers 13:17-33 and the twelve spies and their grasshopper mentally and how Joshua and Caleb chose instead to see the giants in the land differently than anyone else. They were the only two who knew that with God’s help they could overcome them. I also loved how she included a list of 100 verses in the back of the book on affirming God’s love for yourself and others.

Vindication TV Show Season One Review

Vindication is a brand-new TV show that premiered last year in 2019. Fans can stream it on Pure Flix and it’s also available for purchase on Amazon Prime. There is ten episodes in the first season of the series. The series is a crime drama faith-based series. One of the major characters is Detective Travis and his detective trainee, Kris. They worked on a number of different cases together throughout the series. Some of the themes and topics of the episodes included, affairs, sexting, chasing wealth, drug addiction, human trafficking, prostitution, dark web, pornography, and the consequences of committing sins. Each episode showed a faith aspect and a message that everyone can learn something from. The storylines also showed his family life and fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens.

I would recommend this TV show to anyone who enjoys crime drama shows. It reminded me more of a cleaner crime show, fans won’t be seeing a lot of blood or graphic images. The themes do contain real life situations but they are told in a more general descriptions and not too graphic compared to something like Criminal Minds, NCIS, or Law and Order. I think the faith aspect of the series make it unique in the crime shows field. I honestly believe most Christians would enjoy watching the series especially, if they enjoy watching crime shows and they wouldn’t have to worry too much about it being to bloody or graphic. I loved the acting in the series and the different topics they covered. I do feel like some of the first parts of the series was kind of slower. But towards the end of the series, the action picks up around episode eight. I will say I loved the family drama that fans will see and the storyline at the end of very heartbreaking and suspenseful. I liked how the family chose to dealt with something they didn’t see coming. I also liked how the series showed the consequences of sins and decisions and how they can change and affect our lives and others forever. I immensely loved how they enclosed faith and showed the watchers how faith can help you through life. The detective Travis wasn’t a very God believing person. Towards the end of the series, he somewhat changes and starts to believe in some of who God is. There is much more he needs to learn about God and I think that would probably more of a focus in the later seasons.
