My review:

No Address is a movie with a powerful message at its core. Homelessness is a common issue that no one really likes to discuss. It can happen to anyone. You could one day wind up losing it all and have no address. It shows the negative aspect of homelessness and what they experience daily. They have to find different places to sleep, find their next meal, fight up bullies and gang type members. It was heartbreaking in watching this film and getting a glimpse of what they go through.

This story begins with a foster child who loses her mom and then faces eviction and she had no where to go. She meets up with this other young teenager who is in a community of homeless people who treat her like they are her family. He is a runaway because he was tired of the abuse of a father figure and he couldn’t talk his own mother into leaving with him. Each character has a story about how they each became homeless. It showed one older lady who has dementia and believes every day is her birthday they all rally around her to protect her. The gang type members was rough to watch cause they pretty much abused every single person they encountered. They would rob and steal and I honestly thought at few points there was going to be rape scene like an episode of law and order. There isn’t one but there is a few violent scenes such as kicking and punching. I loved the message of the film and how they tried to get people to see that homeless people are real people with stories and they been dealing with life like anyone else. You also get a sense of them becoming a family. At the end, each actor and actress comes together to raise awareness about the cause and why they choose to be a part of it.

This movie has an incredible amount of cast members from Ty Pennington (Extreme Homemaker) who you haven’t heard or really seen him in years, Ashanti (Grammy artist and Resident Evil), William Baldwin (Backdraft, Fair Game). Lucas Jade Zumann, Beverly D’Angelo (Ellen National Lampoon), Xander Berkeley (Terminator 2), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy movies), just to name a few.

There is also a special soundtrack which features songs from Country, R&B, Pop, and Christian artists. The list includes Ashanti, Ryan Griffin, Rachel Lampa, Chynna & Vaughan, Montell Jordan, Fred Hammond just to touch on a few. I was really excited to listen to Ryan Griffin new song and Chynna & Vaughan cause they haven’t released new music in years.

Untangle Your Emotions: Naming What You Feel and Knowing What to Do About It by Jennie Allen Book Review

In Untangle Your Emotions, Jennie Allen explored our emotions and how to understand your feelings. She explained how she experienced a mixture of different feelings she had to discuss with her own counselor. Her daughter had recently gotten married and they had plans to travel around and she was planning on moving away. This caused her great fear and she realized that she didn’t want to be alone. She recalled her husband experiencing a stroke and had high blood pressure. The doctors stated that he was a walking heart attack and needed to take meds and rest at home. She admitted that she was afraid of living alone. She knew her other three kids would move out eventually too. She shared how she wanted to fix things and hated to sit with her feelings. She learned in the process that feelings are meant to be felt. This helps us to connect to God. In the book, she looked at Jesus and how he must have felt diverse emotions throughout his ministry. She enlightened how all of our emotions have a purpose and it connects us to God. She revealed how David was able to feel and live out his emotions, he knew God could handle it.

This book is a great one discussing our many emotions we all will encounter. It helps you to know what they are our and how to handle each one. I liked how open she was in sharing her own stories and how she learned to interact with each feeling.

When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

My Review:

The Unbreakable Boy is a remarkable true story about Austin LeRette. He loves to talk and share everything to everyone. He loves hats and dripping everything in ranch dressing. He was born with a condition called osteogenesis imperfecta. This causes his bones to break very easily. He has autism. He would organize some of his toys and movies and sort them and then get frustrated and destroy them. Austin is played by Jacob Laval (8 Bit-Christmas).

The film shows how Scott met Teresa and wound up going on a few dates. Scott is played by Zachary Levi (Chuck, Shazam, Harold and the Purple Crayon, American Underdogs) and Teresa is played by Meghann Fahy (The Prefect Couple, One Life to Live, The White Lotus). He admitted how he didn’t even know her last name after meeting up a few times. Then he received the dreaded shocking phone call that she was pregnant. The movie shows his best male adult friend as an imaginary friend and how he would sometimes blame him for his bad behavior.

There is a special scene on he told his parents that he was having a baby. The mother is played by Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle). This scene displays how any parent would most likely react when you’re having a kid when you’re not married. There was an awkward moment when he told her that he loved her and later one on how she had been divorced twice. The film shows how Scott had a drinking problem and this led to issues in their marriage. There are very powerful scenes between Patricia and Zachary and a wonderful discussion about mistakes and how we heal are what matters. I really enjoyed how Austin was able to see the sadness in a bully him and his brother faced and what they did in turn to change it around is truly inspiring. There are also some interesting scenes between Scott and the preacher, Peter Facinelli (Twilight) and how he is able to encourage him.

This movie is very inspiring and the acting was incredible. I have always enjoyed the films that feature Zachary Levi and he is able to play the father role to the superhero. This film is like no other. This film is a wonderful movie about Austin and it covered autism, bullying, dealing with health challenges, and rekindling your faith. This story was very impactful in learning to live each day to the fullest. It will be a great one to rewatch again and again.

Rocky Road: Sons of Scandal Series, Book 2 by Becky Wade Book Review

Rocky Road is the second book in the series Sons of Scandals. This one covered Jude Camden as an FBI agent. He is a very strict by the book lawman. His latest assignment is to pose as a boyfriend to Gemma Clare. She owned a perfume and fragrance store. Her cousin, Cedric is admitting to sell the manufacturing secrets. He would be violating the foreign commerce and break the Economic Espionage Act. Cedric texted her and asked about her boyfriend and would he want to sell the secrets. Jude is going to go undercover as her boyfriend in an attempt to arrest him in the act. But Gemma is also a feisty lady and will give the run for his money.

This book is filled with romance and mystery and comes into a love triangle. It was interesting to read along of their adventures to stop a stop to her cousin from selling the family recipe for the perfume. I enjoyed the setting and how they had to pretend to be a couple. This is a rocky wild ride for them since they are opposites. There is also discussions of faith and why bad things happen to good people. This series is going to be a very popular read for Christians who enjoy fiction.
