Unforeseeable: Road to Kingdom- Book Three By Nancy Mehl Book Review

The main character, Callie Hoffman lives in Kingdom, Kanas and is engaged to the town’s new pastor, Levi Housler. A twist happens and the Kanas Bureau of Investigation is searching for a serial killer on the loose. The suspect has killed at least three in the past few months and they discovered he did the same thing twenty years ago and was never caught. The serial killer arrived in Kingdom and kills a woman and she has one of Levi’s book in her hand. More people are found murdered and it will surprise readers until the very end. The main suspect is Levi and Callie spends the majority of the book trying to prove her lover’s innocent.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who loves mystery novels and they love the thrill of living an adventure, page by page. I immensely enjoyed how Nancy Mehl tied up the end novel for the amazing series. It has been a true pleasure reading about the town of Kingdom even if I wouldn’t really want to live there and experience what these characters have went through. I loved how she kept the inspiring Christian theme and faith present throughout the books and I felt they taught me a great deal about having the strength to stand through the difficult seasons and to always grow in love and faith. In this book, I felt the action was a little more intense and it reminded me of a popular TV show, Criminal Minds. If you’re seeking an electrifying adventure and a great series, then read these books!

Unbreakable: Road to Kingdom- Book Two By Nancy Mehl

About Unbreakable:

Gentle and unassuming, Hope Kauffman has never been one to question the traditions of her Mennonite upbringing. She quietly helps her father run Kingdom Quilts and has agreed to the betrothal he arranged for her with the devout but shy Ebbie Miller.
Despite the attempts of Hope and other Kingdom residents to maintain the status quo, changes have already begun to stir in the small Mennonite town. The handsome and charismatic Jonathon Wiese is the leader of the move to reform, while Ebbie insists Kingdom must remain true to its foundation. When Hope's safety is threatened by a mysterious outsider, she can't help but question what she's always been taught about the Mennonite tradition of nonviolence.
As it swiftly becomes apparent the threat Hope faced is only the beginning, the town that's always stood so strong finds itself divided. With tensions high and their lives endangered by an unknown enemy, will Hope and the people of Kingdom allow fear and division to break them or will they draw on the strength of the God they serve?

My Review:

This is the second novel in the series of Road to Kingdom. This book is told from the perceptive of Hope Kauffman who was a secondary character in the first novel. I would recommend this magnificent book to people who love the western style, ole timey feeling adventures. I have read the first book in the series and Nancy Mehl did an even better job on describing and adding more action to the storyline. I immensely loved the plot of Hope being torn between marrying Ebbie or pursuing a relationship with Jonathon. Who hasn’t had to make a choice on who they love more? An even interesting scheme was the violent that was coming from outsiders to the small town. Hope was almost killed when a truck ran her buggy off the road. The truck even returned to kill a dear person who was loved by everyone in the small town. This is where the action really begins, most of the younger people wanted to stand up and to protect their people from harm. The older religious demanded that God doesn’t like violent and we’re supposed to let Him protect us from evil. The conflict between the different generational views will keep readers engaged to the last page. I felt like the story was modern in today’s time with do we allow guns or not. The book is a thriller mixed with religion themes and even though it is a continuation it can still read alone. But the first one is pretty good too! If you’re looking for a suspenseful novel then this one is for you!

Inescapable: Road to Kingdom –Book One By Nancy Mehl Book Tour and Review

Inescapable is a remarkable storyline filled with lessons about making great decisions, forgiving and letting offences go, freedom to love freely again, and never believing and claiming that things can never change. I immediately connected with Lizzie and her intense emotions that she had to encounter and deal with. A stalker threatened to harm her and in order to protect her child, she had to flee. She had to return home to her father who degraded with harsh criticism and words as a child. The book does a wonderful job at presenting the importance of speaking life enhancing words to our children. They will remember all of the hurtful words and positive we spoke to them. The effects of belonging to a strong religion that doesn’t forgive past offenders who make mistakes and wrong choices are demonstrated in the town in this book. It took Lizzie a while to understand that God loved her unconditionally and His love isn’t like her father’s love. She had to learn to forgive and heal from the past wounds or she ran into the risk of repeating the damage to her daughter.

I enjoyed how Nancy Melh described the characters and plot in extremely detail. I felt like I was watching the story unfold line by line and page by page.  The Western theme aspect to the novel added a nice country flavor to the plot. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy a mystery merged with forgiveness, healing, love, and overcoming pain. Major life lessons are woven into the concept of an appealing debut book in the series. I can’t wait to dig deeper into the inscrutability of Lizzie and the new challenges that are awaiting her in the next Road to Kingdom adventure! If you’re looking for a suspenseful packed novel then I highly recommend this novel!
