Mission Possible: Go Create a Life That Counts by Tim Tebow with A.J. Gregory Book Review

In Mission Possible, Tim Tebow explored our paths to discovering our purpose in life and making an impact in other people’s lives. We are all called to live a mission filled lifestyle that showcased all of the good works that God has prepared for us. He explained how Paul stated how we are a workmanship created by Jesus to do His good works and God has prepared us to work in them. We are called to make a difference and help people who are hurting. He shared how he was called to start the Tim Tebow Foundation after meeting a little boy in the Philippines who was born with his feet on backward. Their mission statement is one that touches on how they want to bring faith, hope, and love to people who are in need.

He revealed a heartbreaking study that was completed and they found people who are 51 to 61 who didn’t have a purpose to live for in life was more likely to die. He shared how we all created in God’s image and we need to know our worth and the power of who lives inside us. When we truly believe this, we will find new meaning for living and discovering our purpose. He encouraged readers to become a part of the rescue mission for people. This includes clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, showing mercy, speaking up for people who don’t have a voice, and being kind. In the book, he investigated what encompasses a good mission statement. He provided questions to get people on the right track in brainstorming what their mission statement could be in life. Each mission statement is special in the fact that everyone has their own calling they are supposed to follow.

I liked reading the story about Natalie and how he helped rescue her from human trafficking. His organization has been serving in that area secretly for seven years and they didn’t publicly announce it until 2020. Natalie was sold for sex beginning when she was four or five years old. She lived in a camper with no electricity or running water. Her parents were drug addicts and they would sell their children for sex regularly to make them money where they could keep purchasing drugs. People judged her at school because she was dirty and wore the same clothes daily. She suffered from PTSD, anxiety, depression, and much more. She eventually went into the military and had to drop out. She was homeless and met two men who promised her a better life. They would kindly pay for her room, food, gas for her car. They drilled the door shut and starved her. She was sold for sex and one day she tried to flee and collapsed. A neighbor called 911 and at the hospital a social worker helped her get free. She has since has received her associate degree and works at the same hospital she was rescued at. This helped him to get a passion for helping others.

I would recommend this life changing book on forming and crafting our mission. It was interesting to read about how he proposed to Demi and the thoughts behind it. He was able to relate this example to part of his mission. It also liked how he opened up about his struggle with feeling confident when he was speaking in public. You wouldn’t have picture him struggling with public speaking, since he is now a Christian speaker. Part of what helped him was his teacher, Miss Nancy and her positively influence she had on him. She knew her mission was to help students in choir class. I also liked how he discussed the importance of having a strong work ethic. We need to practice making solutions instead of just complaining when things go wrong. Integrity is something we can all learn to strive for and cultivate it daily.

This is the Day: Reclaim Your Dream. Ignite Your Passion. Live Your Purpose. By Tim Tebow Book Review

In This is the Day, Tim Tebow explored the topic of saying yes to your dreams and pursing our God given dreams. His book is based on the scripture verse Psalms 118:24, which talks about how today is the day the Lord has given us and we need to rejoice and be glad that we have today to make a difference. Tim believes that each of us was given a gift and we have a choice to choose to live out our God given dreams and do something meaningful to change someone else’s life. In this book, Tim shared about why he left his football career in 2015. He also shared about how he decided he wanted to try and follow his dream of being a baseball player. He eventually joined the New York Mets. Tebow shared about his struggles and how he he had a lot of naysayers saying that he was too old and that he wouldn’t be able to perform at his best. He admitted how he had to choose to listen to the right voices and how he had to speak truth into his life about what God said about his life. Tebow chooses daily to speak positive God thoughts into his life especially while he plays baseball. He included a few of scriptures to share with readers what God’s word declares about them. He also opened up about how important it is to live in the present and not to look back. He had to look forward and not dwell on the past. Throughout the book, he also shared heartwarming stories about people he encountered that changed his life and made a positive impact on his life.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who enjoys sports and they are seeking a book to encourage them on their Christian walk. I have enjoyed reading about how positive Tim Tebow is and how he uses his own foundation to make a difference in the lives of people. It was immensely encouraging to read about how Tim Tebow stepped out of his comfort zone and went after his God given desire to play baseball professionally after his NFL football career. I liked how he included tips and scripture verses to encourage readers to pursue their God given purpose and to follow their passion. I also appreciated how real he was in his journey of being single and how he struggled with the what if’s questions and how he has learned to trust God through the process. This book was a great encouragement about following my passion and going after the dreams and desires that God has given me.

Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms by Tim Tebow Book Review

In Shaken, Tim Tebow shared his journey and his football career in the NFL. He played for the Denver Broncos and in 2012 he was traded to the New York Jets. They let him go a year later. He felt insecure and he questioned if he was good enough and what he could have done differently. He shared how disappointed he was and how his world was shaken and how he leaned on his Faith that God still had a great plan and purpose for his life. He had a dream of being a quarterback and he received a few offers to play other positions after he was cut. Tim Tebow had to reply on his true identity in Christ and he reminded readers that we can’t base our identity in our job, marriage, health, money, material things, and anything else apart from Christ. Tim has won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy but his football career isn’t his true identity. Throughout the book, Tim Tebow shared with readers on how to discover their true identity and how to live out their purpose and how to survive whatever storms you may have to encounter.

I liked how Tim Tebow shared the story of Mark Stuart, the former lead singer of the Christian group, Audio Adrenaline. He sold three million copies and released eight albums. He had 17 #1 radio hits and won two Grammys and Dove awards. In 2004, he began to lose his voice and was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia and he was unable to perform heavily again. He admitted to being torn on what to do next with his life. He eventually decided to live out their hit song, “Hands and Feet” and his organization is trying to build a medical clinic and a children’s home that is committed to helping kids with special needs to be adopted. He was able to find his new purpose and a plan for his life.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who enjoys football and they love reading about the walk of another Christian on and off the field. I have always enjoyed watching Tim Tebow and his career. He is mostly known for kneeling and praying on the field. I love how Tim Tebow was real and transparent in sharing how he rediscovered his identity and purpose after being traded and then cut from a team. I also loved how he explained how he deals with his critics and how we need to not be our own worst enemy. I also liked how he shared personal stories of people he met through his own foundation and how the people changed his perceptive and outlook on life. If you’re looking for a wonderful book to read, then get this one!
