The Nations Rage: Prayer, Promise and Power in and Anti-Christian Age by David Sliker Book Review

 

In the Nations Rage, David Sliker explored the topic of Biblical prophecy and how the return of Jesus is coming soon. He shared how the nations will soon rage against the church. He described how there will be three things that will happen: a great crisis and a shaking and changing of the nations, great glory will be displayed in the church, and a judgement from Heaven will rain down. David opened up about the importance of love, in the end days, while waiting on Christ’s return to Earth for His people. We are told in scripture about how the love will grow cold. He also revealed how no one will know the time or the hour that Christ will return and it is compared to how Noah didn’t know the hour of the flood or when it would occur. It is explained how one worker was working in the mill and one was taken and one wasn’t. Throughout the book, he looked at the signs and wonders that is to come. One of the first signs was found in Joel and this is going to be a great revival among the church and young and old believers will be in unity across all denominational lines and cultures. Joel also stated how the Holy Spirit will be released among all believers and they will be able to do miracles, healing, and much more. All believers will be declaring the Christ is returning and there will be unity. At the same time, we will be facing opposition from the world around us. Another sign is the shaking of the world and we will see many changes happening everywhere across the globe. We see in scriptures in two different chapters about how the things that can be shaken will be and they will be removed. The earth will eventually be transformed in the end and Christ will rebuilt His Kingdom.

 

 

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone is interested in the end times and prophecy and the role the Church is going to be playing. I immensely liked how in depth he went into in exploring the signs and wonders and how the Church will one day soon be in unity and how we will all be one in Christ. I learned a lot about how the earth will be shaken and we will see crisis all over the globe and nations will be in raged. It was eye opening about how he warned believers that something major will occur and it will turn nations against Israel, their people, God, and the Church. I liked how he also explored the city of Babylon and the corruption and also the New Jerusalem that is to come. There is a great hope that in the end Christ will prevail and He will have the final victory.

Praying for America: 40 Inspiring Stories and Prayers for Our Nation By Dr. Robert Jeffress Book Review

In Praying for America, Robert Jeffress explored how to pray for America and how we as a nation we have forgotten God, and how we need to turn back to God. He explained how we have lost the love of loving God, ourselves, and we have stopped loving our neighbors. He revealed the truth in Psalms 9:17 that the nations that don’t believe and love God will perish. He explored the history of Abraham Lincoln and in 1863, he issued a National Day of Prayer and fasting after Fredericksburg during the Civil War. Lincoln believed that event was the result of America’s sins and how they have forgotten God. In the book, he explored the topics of: God’s will, religious freedom, our president and leaders, troops, law enforcement, debt problems, education, pure sexuality, fatherless children, our jobs, and much more. Each chapter contained a story from history, a prayer, and a scripture verse. 

One of my favorite chapters was the chapter on the voiceless. Robert shared the story of Gianna and how in 1976 she was conceived by a teenage mother and her boyfriend. Her mother decided to have an abortion and he described the procedure that normally happens. Gianna ended up surviving at 29 weeks was born and weighed 2.75 pounds. The abortionist wasn’t there yet and the nurse had her transferred to the hospital. She did suffer a lack of oxygen and she developed cerebral palsy. She was placed in emergency foster care and Penny ended up raising her and praying over her life. She was able to learn to walk without the use of a walker or leg braces and she ran two marathons. He shared how in America we murder an average of three thousand babies and thousands more are killed with oral contraceptives. He encouraged readers to pray for our leaders and for us to become the voice for the voiceless and to reach out to pregnant mothers and help them. 

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to pray for America and that should be everyone in this nation. As we all know, we are still struggling with covid-19 and protests and injustice going on in our nation. I also liked how he dealt with the topic of corrupt cops and he made a point that we need to dealt with the on a case by case basic, same as if it was a bad pastor or parent. He also shared how we need to pray for them and to obey law enforcement and only to disobey them if they are causing us to do something sinful. I believe this book was written for a time as this to where we can all learn to humble ourselves and pray. I immensely loved how he covered a number of topics from our leaders to our own family and our community. I loved how he included countless stories in the book and he taught readers history and what we can take away from it and how to pray and change it for the future.

‘Til Heaven Invades Earth: Power Principles for Intercessory Prayer By Cindy Trimm Book Review

In ‘Til Heaven Invades Earth, Cindy Trimm has written this book to guide readers into praying and interceding on the behalf of others. Throughout the book, she explored the way Esther displayed incredible faith and courage in facing King, Ahasuerus. Before she enter his presence, she fasted for three days and she prayed for strength and favor. There was a really danger in entering the king’s presence uninvited. He could decide to eliminate the person or he could permit their passage. He granted her favor and he met with his bride. Esther explained the terrible genocide that was planned for the Jews. Cindy Trimm used Esther as her example in understanding intercessory. Like most of us, we have noticed that the world is in troubling times, but how often are we really praying for the issues that are bothering us on a global view. Cindy Trimm identified that it’s time for the prayer warriors to arise and to be dynamic and forceful in our prayers, and to pray for the needs and burdens of the world.

 

Cindy Trimm goes into great detail on putting on the full armor of God found in Ephesians 6:10-18. She also reminded readers that Jesus himself practiced intercession and we’re commanded to follow in Christ’s example. She revealed the three different works of grace. The new one that I learnt was the grace in pursuing the plans and works, God has preordained for us uniquely to complete for His kingdom. Following God’s will for our lives begins in praying regularly and asking for His wisdom and strength daily. The book also covered the judiciary of Heaven and what to pray in intercession prayers.

 

One of my favorite quotes was, “Things are the way they are because no one is standing before the throne of heaven to ask that it be otherwise” (Page xvi).

 

I would recommend this magnificent book on intercession and praying for other people needs and the world issues at large. I immensely love how Cindy Trimm crafted the book and encouraged believers to pray for our president, Senate, Congress, world leaders, and their spouses. I like how she included the crucial importance of praying for worldwide issues like human trafficking, hunger, child abuse, religious persecution, etc. This book made me realize that the majority of us pray during election year, then after they are in office we tend to quit praying for them. Now more than ever, believers must began to pray that our nations will turn back to God, and repent for our sins, and declare that we will serve the Kingdom of God! I enjoyed her helpful suggest in writing down a prayer list on paper, notecard, or smartphone in order to make it easier to pray during your prayer times. I loved the “Appendix B: An Example of a Prayer Guide for Praying the Disciple’s Prayer” section, because it served its purpose as being an effective resource in emphasizing to readers on how to intercede on behalf of our world leaders. If you’re seeking a life changing, powerful book on intercession and praying over world leaders and issues concerning the world, then read this book!
