The Fire of Perfect Love: Intimacy with God for a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Unshakable Faith by Steven and Rene Springer Book Review

In The Fire of Perfect Love, Steven and Rene Springer explored the importance of having a fiery love as the main goal of your life. They begin the book by sharing how the distortion of love is becoming common. We are losing our sight of God, there is a lack of loyalty, no real intimacy, immoral sexual behavior, catching after wealth, family dysfunction, racism, and much more. A large number of people are looking for love and acceptance wherever we can find it. They revealed how we need to love God first and when we experience this type of love this will in turn cause us to love others. They included a helpful list on how Father God expressed His love to us. These included, “gives life, is intimate, delights, generous, makes everything beautiful, protects and gives freedom to choose, redeems, clothes and covers”, and much more. They also took it a step farther and covered Jesus and the Holy Spirit and how they also express love to us.

One of my favorite chapters was about our identity and how many of us are lure into finding our identity in titles, labels, and causes. They explained the difference between our being and relating. They shared how Martha found her identity by who she is and not by what she does. We need to also focus more on our seeing ourselves as holy and righteousness. We can let our old sinful nature to die. Steven also shared about how he had a son out of wedlock before he became a Christian. He explained how the world would refer to him as illegitimate or a mistake. He clarified how we are all created in love and Christ destined us and planned for us. They explored how when we know who we are in Christ, then we will display boldness, rest, inheritance, and Kingdom authority.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready for love to transform and change their entire lives. I loved how they touched on our identity in Christ and how we can navigate the journey to perfect love. This book can assist readers into stepping into their nature as a saint and become fearless. I liked how each chapter enclosed journey to perfect love and it contained declarations, a prayer, or questions. This book can help you to share the love and spread it around. There are also helpful videos to accompany and go along with the message of the book.

Secret of the Anointing: Accessing the Power of God to Walk in Miracles by Kathryn Krick Book Review

In Secret of the Anointing, Kathryn Krick walks readers through the entire process of walking with God, developing Godly character, and stepping into our anointing. She begins the book by sharing how she started 5F (Five-Fold) church in Los Angeles. She explained throughout the years she started with around 20 people to dropping down to sometimes just two people in 2020 when Covid happened. She strongly believes that there is a revival coming and the time is now. She had a vision and a calling to lead the nation and reach the lost. She created a one-minute video on TikTok in December 2020 showing how God moved in the past year. She witnessed people receive healing. The video reached 1 million views and there were tons of comments stating how God has brought a miracle into their own lives. She created something called, “Revival in the Park”. There were demons casted out and people began traveling to her church services.

In the book, she explained how many of us struggle with breaking free from anxiety, depression, and addictions without much avail. We have to have God’s anointing to break the yoke. In the Bible, God would use human vessels to break the yokes. Slavery was broken from the Israelites through Moses, Elisha raised a man from the dead, and Peter casted out demons just by being around them. She explained how a lot of the sickness, depression, and suicidal thoughts are caused by a demonic spirit. This book teaches readers how to know the power of their spiritual authority and how to cast them out. She shared how we can receive impartation from others one of these included pouring oil on the head. She covered how to obtain deliverance and how you can break from past open doors that you may not even be aware of.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is curious about anointing and they are ready to strength their relationship with Christ. I liked how she revealed what anointing means and how can witness the miracles taking place in today’s times. I liked how she shared different testimonies of impartation and how their lives were changed in the process. They were truly inspiring and touching to read how they attained their deliverance. This book will help break the yokes of addiction in your own lives.

The Last Hour Study Guide: An Israeli Insider Looks at the End Times by Amir Tsarfati Book Review

In The Last Hour Study Guide, Amir Tsarfati has written a helpful resource to go along with his hit book. The book discussed Israel and the end times and what is to come. He shared that Israel would be invaded by the second tiers of nations and Russia would be leading the battle. There will be a rapture taking home God’s people and a second coming. There will be a one world government led by ten kings and the antichrist. Jesus would one day rule and during that 1000-year period satan will be bound and then there will be a new world. The book also all into details about the end times and what we can expect.

One of my favorite chapters discussed the deceptions of nations. One of the deceptions is that Israel isn’t God’s chosen people and all of this is trying to weaken them. Satan loves to cause confusion and contradict the truth. Another way is that peace in the Middle East is possible. There has always been fights and wears occurring in Israel and God has always protected them. Peace will only come when Christ returns. I also enjoy the truths found in Ezekiel and prophecies and of these is of the dry bones which is very eye opening.

I would recommend this awesome resource to anyone who is wanting to go deeper into the original book’s message. This Bible study provides a way to study the scriptures behind the chapters. I liked how they included a few empty spaces where you could write out the answer to the questions. There is also fill in the blanks from scripture verses. There are helpful charts enclosed such as, “differences between Israel and the Church” in help readers to grasp the significance. Each chapter include application truths from this session which is like a quick summary.

Healing Rain: Immersing Yourself in Christ’s Love to Find Wholeness of Mind, Body, and Heart by Sue Detweiler Book Review

In Healing Rain, Sue Detweiler wants readers to experience real healing in their hearts, spiritual, and physical. She begins the book by sharing a personal story about how an arsonist almost killed her and her 5-week-old baby, Rachel. They set a house next to theirs on fire and it caught their house also on fire. A few weeks earlier, her house had also been robbed. They were being targeted cause they were planting their very first church in Nashville, Tennessee. She credits her own mother to help save her life. Her mother felt let to pray, fast, and meditate on Isaiah 43. Her husband was able to make it home just in time and the fire dept was able to save them. The baby also didn’t suffer any harm. They were later made aware that witchcraft was involved and whenever her husband was gone. They would receive a phone call and laugher would be on the other end of the call who sounded like a witch. They sought out assistance in dealing with the trauma at a deliverance conference. Her husband was set free from the wounds of sexual intercourse as a teenager and she was freed from being sexual abused, unforgiveness, rejection, and demons of religion.

In the book, she provides readers with the knowledge of revival and how God wants to revive us. She explained the 7 keys to obtain divine health. She opened up about her personal battle for health and how she was so sick from Hashimoto thyroiditis and inflammation. She was able to receive healing from her pain. She revealed how she takes communion regularly and has witness amazing changes and miracles.

I would recommend this awesome book on healing and getting wholeness from our past traumas and hurts. I liked how she was transparent in sharing her own personal stories and how she has experienced healing and miracles. One of my favorite things she explored was how stress affects our bodies and how being burned out begins in our mind. I liked how she explained rest and how important this is and we can see wonderful benefits in every area of our lives. I also connected with the chapter on renewing our minds and how we can choose to declare these critical scriptures over our lives. I also loved how she enclosed different examples and personal stories from others who have witnessed miracles and attained their own healing. I liked how she included a healing moment section throughout the book and prayers at the end of the chapters.

The Bible Recap: A One-Year Guide to Reading and Understanding the Entire Bible, Personal Size Imitation Leather by Tara-Leigh Cobble Book Review

In The Bible Recap, a one-year guide, Tara-Leigh Cobble is a wonderful guide to help readers to go through the entire Bible within a year. She begins by sharing how she struggled with reading the Bible. She felt reading the Bible was challenging and sometimes she had a lack of desire. She realized that she was making three mistakes. She was seeking the Bible for her own personal reasons to feel like she was doing good and following proper morals. She shared how was kept looking over the same passages again and again and would discard the rest. She described it as jumping in a movie and seeing only five minutes of it. It’s impossible to truly comprehend everything. She decided to read the entire Bible chronologically and to see the Bible in the full context to better understand it. She will take readers through the scriptures as they happened. She explained how she would read the Bible and start to ask questions such as, “what does the Bible say about the passage, what does God reveal, what he hates, what attributes are displayed”, just to name a few. Her approach to the Bible is she wanted to focus more on the character of God. This is where she got the idea to include a God’s Shot session on each day to make it easier for us to see more of who God is. Readers are meant to read the scriptures first, then to read the summary and highlights of what the verses were about.

I would recommend this awesome book written to guide readers through the whole Bible. I immensely enjoyed reading the summary and highlights of the passages and how she went in order chronically and not just the chronically order of the Bible chapters. It helped to see the whole picture of what the Bible is all about. I liked how she enclosed the God’s Shot and I thought these really helped to understand more of God’s character. Some of these included how God is making us righteous, how He is faithful, sovereign, goodness, and much more. I liked how they put a blue ribbon in the book to make it easier to read and bookmark your spot. This is an incredible resource to use to study the Bible and gain more knowledge about who God is and His character. I have ready and use some of the other resources in this series and she does a great job at making the Bible simpler to read.

Pursuing God’s Presence: A Practical Guide to Daily Renewal and Joy by Roger Helland Book Review

In Pursuing God’s Presence, Roger Helland explored God’s Holy presence and how we can all live it out where we go. He described kavod as, being heavily honor majesty, power, presence, and glory of God. He discussed Eden and went all the way to the path of Eternity and how God’s presence can be found throughout the entire journey. He looked at Holiness and how important it is to watch what we listen to, watch, and relate with. We must also be careful into falling into sexual immorality and also avoid angry and malice against others. He explored prayer and talk to God, listen to him, and engage in distinctive varies prayer postures.

In the book, he revealed how he grew up as a pagan. His mother was a waitress and she had been divorced three times. His step-father was a realtor and he felt like he was fatherless. He grew up in a non-Christian home and he lived how he wanted to until he was about 18 years old. Everything changed when he was back home from the Army boot camp. He met his high school friend who had recently had become a Jesus Freak. His friend explained to him the meaning of Jesus Christ and led him into salvation. He was on LSD at the time. He felt this dramatic shift happening inside of him and he prayed that if Jesus is real that he wanted to believe. After that he began to read the Bible while in the Army. He shared how he was finally convicted when he was trying to witness to someone while holding up a beer. He explained how he needed to get this story straight and this woke up Roger into dealing with hypocrisy. He explained how he went to Bible college and became a pastor.

One of my favorite chapters was about creating a home-based Bethel, which means house of God. It is meant to be a holy habitation where God dwells. He explained how we are supposed to have Christ at the center of our house. We shouldn’t place our children above God or anything else. We need to model our home in a house of prayer and invite God’s presence to dwell freely in our home. He also shared how we are commanded to love our wives as Christ loved the Church. He discussed how we must be careful if we have overly sensitive children and not drive our children into discouragement by being overly disciple. He opened up about prayer and how we should pray for them daily and teach them about the power of prayer and blessing them. He looked at the topic of peace and designing a home that showcases harmony.

I would recommend this astonishing book to anyone who is ready to live in God’s holy presence and His Glory, also known as kovod. I greatly enjoyed reading about different ways in which you can have holiness in your home and creating a house where God’s presence can be seen daily. I loved the tips and how he enclosed ways in which we can have a Bethel type home. I really enjoyed the topic of blessings and how we can bless our children by using touch and using our words to shape and influence their lives for the better. I also liked the topic of basketing in the presence of God at work. We can dedicate our workplace as a sanctuary and we can seek prayer, listen to scriptures on the way to work or at work if allowed, and view our workplaces as a place to mask in God’s Holy presence. This book was very refreshing in understanding more of the Holy Spirit and living a Christ centered life.

Seven Secrets of the Spirit-Filled Life: Daily Renewal, Purpose and Joy When You Partner with the Holy Spirit by Jack Levison Book Review

In Seven Secrets of the Spirit-Filled Life, Jack Levison is a short devotional type book covering the topics on developing a deeper relationship with Christ. The book is divided into 49 chapters because the Jewish feast of Pentecost occurs 50 days after the Passover. Readers can choose to complete the book in 49 days or even better read a chapter a week and ponder the message and practice it all week long. Some of the book’s secrets included, “anticipate infinitely more, saturate yourself with scripture, commit to community, leave a spiritual legacy”, just to name a few.

He begins the book by sharing a story of how he attended college at Wheaton. The professor wrote something in Greek and asked the class what it mean. He wrote Philippians 4:13 on the board and asked the class if this would allow them not to study for tests and still pass. He stated how we can however obtain the power to face whatever we go through in life. He explained how this led him to crave to want to be filled with more of the spirit.

One of my favorite chapters was on the topic of staying together and this discussed how we are called be in unity. He shared how it has been said before that it takes two to get married and only one to deiced to get divorced. This day explained how we are all God’s temple and we God’s spirit lives inside of you. Paul stated how if anyone was to destroy God’s temple, then He would destroy them. There are divisions within the church and he warns us on causing divisions to occur. We can in turn suffer the consequences and be destroyed. He also clarified how the Corinthians caused divisions by arguing over who is the better leader: Paul, Peter, Apollos, or Christ, who had the best spiritual gift, and who was the most spiritual. We can instead follow a spirit fill life and all remain in the same temple. This day encouraged believers to reach out to others who are different from us whether it be a different belief in God or has a different point of view. We can provide them with an encouraging word or just show them the love that we have inside of us.

I would recommend his awesome devotional type book to anyone who is ready to learn more about how to live a more spirit filled life and we can understand more about the Holy Spirit. I immensely loved the idea of reading the book a chapter a week. I think it would help the topics to get more inside your spirit by breaking it down and studying it for a week and maybe even rereading the same chapters again for the whole week. The chapters are super short and easy to read along with. I liked how each day contained a lesson on living it out and completing an activity and a short prayer. This would be a wonderful book to use as a daily study and help you to renew and feel fresh masking in the Word of God daily.

Stuff I'd Only Tell God: A Guided Journal of Courageous Honesty, Obsessive Truth-Telling, and Beautifully Ruthless Self-Discovery by Jennifer Dukes Lee Book Review

In Stuff I’d Only Tell God, Jennifer Dukes Lee has designed a brand-new journal to help readers to have an open conversation with God. She referred to this book as our own personal little confession booth. She encouraged readers to be honest and compassion in going through the journaling process. It is designed to help us to discover our people, your past, present, and future, secrets, dreams, and much more. She also stated how readers could destroy the book later on if they choose to do so after they are finished with it. The book included charts, blank spaces to answer the questions, games such as happiness bingo, drawing where your scars on your body are, soundtrack of our lives, waves of nostalgia, if I were a Psalmist, facing your fear, dear younger me, and much more.

I immensely loved the vast different writing activities that are included in the book. Some of my favorite was writing a letter to your younger self and this reminded me of the same idea that is showcased in Brad Paisley’s Letter to Me and Younger Me by Brothers Osborne. I think we will all realized that we have grew as a person and hopeful have grown in wisdom. I also liked how she encourage readers to explore the holes that have postmarked our life and some we have fell into. We can also eagerly hope for the seeds and the garden that have grown. I liked the idea of the genogram and exploring your family tree and looking at what behaviors, habits, and personalities that each family member deal with. I liked how she encouraged readers to write down what hurtful words have been spoken over their lives and how we can counteract them with affirmations to heal the deep wounds.

I would recommend this astonishing journal that is filled with fun activities to do while you spend time with God to anyone who is seeking a journal that is Christian focused. This is a wonderful took to use in our self-discovery journey. I really enjoyed how there was all different types of fun activities for readers to do and everyday was distinctive to assist us in becoming more honest with the real you. The journal enclosed difficult questions that sometimes readers would need to ponder and deal with their past, present, and dreams about the future. This journal will take readers on a refreshing journey and help you to grow close to Christ.

Israel: Beauty, Light, and Luxury (A Vibrant, Full-Color Coffee Table Book with 350 Photos of the Holy Land's Features, Flora, & People. Also Includes 31 Bible Devotionals) by Tara-Leigh Cobble Book Review

Israel is a beautiful book enclosed with high quality photography. There are tons of photos showcasing the beach, ocean, the River Jordan, the Garden Tomb, Jerusalem, Dead Sea, just to name a few. The book also showed different food served and some of it was desert. They all looked so tasty! She included a 31-day devotional throughout the book. These include a short story about Israel and historical facts and a verse.

The book shared about Beit Sahour/ Bethlehem. She explained how many of the homes were built on top of caves in Biblical times and they had a cave basement. In the winter months, they would light a fire in the doorway to keep the animals warm. She revealed how Jesus was likely born in the summer months and not in December. It estimated to have occurred between June and September. It would have also allowed cave basement, Kataluma open for visitors staying over. She also explained how Jesus was born in a stone manger. Most of us picture the manger always been made of wood.

The book also looked at the Mount of Olives and how critical it was in the reign of Jesus. It is the hill where Jesus’ rode down the fill on Palm Sunday. It contained the Garden of Gethsemane where he prayed before he was killed. Zechariah has stated that Jesus will return to that same mountain and Jesus will cause it to split in two. He will also enter the city through the Eastern Gate which is now blocked off by cement. Jews were instructed to never walk through a cemetery because it would cause them to become unclean. She clarified to readers who nothing is going to stop Christ and He will move the hill when it is time to do so.

I would recommend this astonishing book to anyone who is curious about Israel and they are wanting to observe pictures from the Holy Land. They were all incredible and gorgeous. I loved looking at the blue and green colors of the ocean and sea. The beach ones really wanted me to leap inside the pages and enjoy the fresh air. I was shocked to see how little the sea of Galilee and how you can see the entire sea all at once. It would be eye opening to imagine and to see firsthand where the disciples lived and stayed. It was also interesting to learn about the hometown of Mary Magdalene and how they uncovered the Magdala Stone. I enjoyed reading the devotional that was spread throughout the book. I wouldn’t really consider this one just a sole devotional style book. It would make a great coffee table book or placed somewhere visitors can enjoy looking at. It would be a great gift for office places if they get lots of clients.

A God Named Josh: Uncovering the Human Life of Jesus Christ by Jared Brock Book Review

In A God Named Josh, Jared Brock has written a fresh perspective about the life of Jesus. He named God Josh and in it he refers to him by this name. The book begins by exploring the genealogical of Jesus and goes all the way to him dying on the cross and rising up from the grave. He enlightened on all of the twelve disciples and their backgrounds using scripture where readers can grasp who they were. He explored in great detail how Jesus related to the women he was around at the time, the Romans, Pharisees, just to name a few. He looked at the rabbi clothing and how they dressed. Jared explained how we can take lessons from Yehoshua and our appearance. First, we need to remember not to judge others on how they look on the outside. He shared how there isn’t many people who were considered attractive or well-dressed who made an impact. These included William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, and Mother Teresa. He clarified how we shouldn’t dress in anything that could cause us to distract someone else. The book also revealed the significance of following economic principles and using wisdom in our money and spending. He broke this down into twelve principles such as, “use your money to show mercy, make a budget, or rather, count the cost, give and lend to the poor without question”.

I would recommend this remarkable book about Jesus and his historical life story to anyone who is ready to dive into a new version about His life. I thought it was interesting to see how he compared Jesus’ murder to being committed by a mafia family. He tried to think of things people don’t typically think about in reading Jesus’ story. He even dramatic shared that Jesus burped, farted, and did other things. I will admit that this isn’t something I have really considered while reading scripture before. I liked the idea of naming God after Josh but it was honestly a little confusing as to why the author chose this name. I personally felt he could have just called God, God. I think it was more of a way where readers can understand the scriptures and the story in today times. One of my favorite chapters was the last chapter detailing Jesus’ journey to the cross and dying for sins. He violently tried to describe the scene of Jesus being tortured and abused. This was very eye opening at imagining the scene. I also liked how he looked at the explanation of the resurrection and some of the possibilities that people tend to believe and it led up to what if Jesus really did resurrect.

Good Catastrophe: The Tide-Turning Power of Hope by Benjamin Windle Book Review

In Good Catastrophe, Benjamin Windle explored the pain to dealing with greatest struggles and challenges and how hope can arise from our pain. In the book, he went into great detail about the story of Job and pulled principles that we can use to assist us in our pain. In the book, he explained how his seven-year-old son survived a dog attack from a Rottweiler. It attacked his face and neck and left a large laceration on his neck. He begged God to let his son live and to take him instead. Luckily the attacked missed any tendons, nerves, and arteries. He clarified how as a father he was supposed to protect him. But he couldn’t when he didn’t even see what was coming. He shared how he was able to have hope even when he didn’t understand why the pain happened.

He also shared how his brother was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and it was in stage four. He fought for his life for over five years before going home to Jesus. He was forty-one when he passed. When he was first writing the book, he was still here and he explained how he was battling the uncertainty and the unknown. He revealed two ways that readers can use to forge purpose for our pain. One of these included focusing on others and taking our eyes for our own problems. He shared how Job focused on the poor and orphans. He reached out and gave hope to others and they in turned blessed him. And as we all know his story is still blessing others. We can have ultimate hope that even if we lack the answers, we are seeking on why things happen, we can rely on the fact there will be a day when one day there will be no pain.

I would recommend this awesome book about pain and heartache to anyone who is seeking a book that will provide you with inspiration hope. I immensely loved how he looked at the whole life of Job and how he lost everything. He was at rock bottom and he felt alone and abandoned by friends and family. He lost his kids, health, and his wealth. One of my favorites stories was about the broken piano that Keith Jarrett played and was able to make a best-selling album by working around the broken keys. I liked how he used this story to remind us to use our brokenness and to forge purpose from our pain. I loved how he wrote a book in assisting readers in weathering life’s storms and standing firm with our anchors.

But Then She Remembered: How to Give God Your Full Attention in a Distracted World by Katie Westenberg Book Review

In But Then She Remembered, Katie Westenberg explained how we are all face with numerous distraction every day. There are countless things competing for our attention. She revealed how studies have discovered that nearly half of cell phone users are addicted to their phone. She discussed how she personally believes that being so distracted has cause us to quench the Holy Spirit and is causing us to struggle to bear fruit. She begins the book by looking at how the world has lost its memory. We are all way to stressed and struggling with forgetfulness and we have so much on our plates. She stated how, “distracted eyes are leading to distracted souls.” In 2000, the average attention span of adults was 20 seconds and now in 2013 it has dropped to 8 seconds. And I wonder what it is now. She shared how we are called to remember Christ and His ways and to love him.

One of my favorite chapters was on identify and how the Latin meaning actual means, “sameness”. She went into detail about the different definitions and what they mean. She also explained how the Bible doesn’t directly link anything to our identity in Christ or state the word identity. But the concept is still important. We can still learn the foundation of Christ and how the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all knowledge. She helped readers to go deeper into the real root of Christ and how our sins are forgiven, how much we are loved, and our inheritance.

I would recommend this awesome book about living in a distracted world and how we instead focus on what matters most. I immensely loved how she discussed topics such as memory and living with a renewed mind and how this changes you. This book is geared on assisting readers in navigating the waters of being distracted and how we can develop new habits and grow deeper in our spiritual life. I liked how she included helpful studies at the end of each chapter and there is plenty of space to answer the questions and do the fill in the blanks.

Authentic Worship: The Path to Greater Unity with God by A.W. Tozer Compiled and Edited by James L. Snyder Book Review

Authentic Worship is a book that enclosed sermons that A.W. Tozer preached on about the power of worshipping God. This is the first time the book has been released. In the book, he discussed what it means to truly worship God and not follow how churches or the world tells us what is allowed. He wanted us to understand what scriptures stated about worship. He begins by exploring the difference between Cain and Abel’s style of worship. Cain worship was more for him and his people. Abel’s contained blood and God accepted this worship. He described how worship is more than just singing and praying. We are supposed to be living it and working and serving others. A major feature of the book is understanding what unity is and how essential it is. He clarified how there is divisions in the churches and how this is affecting us. There are no denominations in Heaven and we can learn to worship in unity. A lot of the problem could be the enemy in spreading division within the churches.

One of my favorites examples included in this book was about the topic of unity and how the universe is one massive system that works together. I immensely loved how he compared all of this to numerous things that bring balance to the world. These included a leaf falling to the ground, a baby born, or a stone on the seashore. All of these things are interlocked and work together and they serve a purpose. I loved how he also compared it to God and Christ watching over the world sitting side by side being at the center of the world. This is a mind-blowing example that will really get the point across about unity.

I would recommend this amazing book on the topic of authentic worship to anyone who is ready to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. They also are wanting to have more unity in their churches. I loved how each chapter included a prayer and a poem/ teaching from a religious leader, such as: Martin Luther, Charles Wesley, just to name a few. Another eye-opening illustration was about the burning bush that Moses witnessed and how it purified and what it teaches us about sanctification. Everything burned that was on the bush and this included fungi, bugs, and worms. He used this to explain how nothing can withstand the fire and how sins can’t be too greater that God can’t forgive. This is a wonderful book about worshiping and understanding the character of God.
