In The Military Guide to Armageddon, Colonel David J. Giammona and Troy Anderson have written a brand new book to assist readers in understand what is about to happen in the last days. Colonel Giammona served in the military for 32 years and shared some of his personal experiences. Troy Anderson is a Pulitzer prize journalist. They begin the book by sharing the heartbreaking truth that the world has only experienced 268 years of peace and that equals 8% in history. There has been more war times and we had people killed and who lost their lives because of it. They explained how we have also an unseen war between Heaven and hell. In the book, they explored the life of David and how he engaged in war and how we can be a warrior for Christ. This book enclosed details and information to prepare believers for the battles that we will face in the end times.

It also explored when Jesus could return and the signs that have already happened. One of the first event, we saw that Jesus could return was back in 1948 when Israel was rebirth in a day, which was foretold in scripture. They revealed a poll done by the Lifeway Research and how they discovered that nine in ten pastors saw some current events such as the Covid-19 would match an event that could lead to Jesus return. The book included a checklist of do and don’t and also an end times check list. The book also looked at the rise of the antichrist and his rise to power and how he could be among us today. They looked at the technology aspect and how implantable microchips could lead to the mark of the beast. They shared how we can prepare in advance for a per-disaster/pre-tribulation and get supplies that we may need for the future. Each chapter also enclosed a section entitled, “military prepping principles, believer’s prepping principles, and strategic spiritual exercises”.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone is ready to prepare for the end times and they are ready to gear up for what is to come. I immensely enjoyed the military aspect that the authors brought to the end times scope and they were able to emerge an impactful guide to prepare readers. I loved how they included countless scriptures to explain what the future is going to become and what we can expect. I enjoyed how they connected current events such as the Covid-19 virus and how this event has stopped the world in its tracks. I also liked the checklist they include about how we can prepare our house with supplies in case of pre-tribulation times. I liked how the book contained the spiritual training we need to become a warrior in the final battle.

How to Listen So Your Kids Will Talk: Deepen Your Connection and Strengthen Their Confidence by Becky Harling Book Review

In How to Listen So Your Kids Will Talk, Becky Harling opened up about parenting and how she learned the importance of listening to what is our children heart’s. She raised four children and now has 14 grandchildren. She begins by sharing a personal story about her own parenting and how God spoke to her during one conversation with her daughter. One of her daughters who was 4 at the time loved to argue and disagree with her on many things. One time, they were arguing and her daughter was telling her no and she was begging for her to listen to her side. The Lord spoke to her and said give her a voice and since then she tried the timer method. She gave her daughter one minute per year of her age to state her case. Later, she was able to recognize that her daughter had strong leadership abilities. She compared her to Deborah in the Bible and how God used her to help defeat enemies of Israel and how she was a strong leader and confident. Throughout her parenting, she was able to see how critical it is for our children to feel like we are hearing what they have to say. She shared how if we will listen to our children now and connect with them, then when they become adults, they will be more open to speak with us and in turn we will develop a healthy everlasting relationship.

She shared how we need to all become more mindful in our parenting and to limit the distractions with work and technology when we are supposed to be engaging with our children. This will help us to let our children know we are hearing them. The book looked at how we can be intentional with having a date with each of our child and doing a special activity one on one. She also shared how playing is importance for the growth of our children. We can also learn the practice of asking questions and creating conversation topics to engage at family dinner time and other times as needed. She included 50 open ended questions to assist parents in asking their children these questions and to learn more about how they are feeling and thinking. She also included tips on using wisdom to ask questions wisely.

I would recommend this awesome parenting book to anyone who is struggling with raising their kids. I immensely like how she looked at ways to use wisdom found in scriptures and how we can use better listening and listening practices to engaged with our children. I liked how she included how to pray scriptures over our kids’ lives and she included fill in the blanks in the book. I also liked how she included wisdom tools at the end of each chapter. This enclosed wisdom from God, self-care, and wisdom from the different ages: preschoolers, grade schoolers, tweens, and teens. The Only Answer Is Prayer: An Intimate Walk with God into the Miraculous by William McDowell, Jason McMullen, and Caleb Grant Book Review

In The Only Answer is Prayer, William, Jason, and Caleb have all teamed up to write about their experiences with prayer while leading their congregation at Deeper Fellowship Church. They begin the book by exploring scriptures on prayer. One of the important ones is found in Second Chronicles 7:14 and this speaks about how if we will be humble and seek God and turn from our sinful nature. He will forgive us and heal our lands. What power and change would we see if we did this! They also looked at Elijah and how he prayed for it not to rain for three and a half years and how God answered that prayer. After three and a half years when he prayed again that it would rain, it did. They all strongly shared how we are all called to be intercessors. They also revealed how critical it is to have intimacy with Christ and to know Him, where we will know what He wants for our lives. We will find our true authority when we get closer to our Creator. The enemy doesn’t want us to become closer to Christ and often times satan will use distractions to keep us from abiding in Christ. Some of the things the enemy will attack is our relationships, flesh, mind, time, wealth, health, and the allure of fame. They also explored ten benefits of prayer and some of these included, “peace, revelation, discernment, and direction, boldness, answers, confirmation of your identity”, and much more. They revealed a powerful truth in, if we are tossing and turning at night and worried about an issue that we already prayed for, then this shows how we aren’t really trusting in God and his ability and power. We subconsciously are believing we are in fact God.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone is ready to grow in their relationship with Christ and they are wanting to boost their prayer life. This book will provide readers with the foundational principles on gaining greater intimacy with our Creator and to pray bigger prayers. I immensely enjoyed how they explored the ten hindrances to prayer and they went in great detail on how we maybe blocking our prayers from being answered. It isn’t the devil causing them to be not answered. I liked how they revealed the painful truth on how we can repent and change our ways and stop the hinderances on our prayer life. This book will teach readers to agree with Heaven and pray for it to be done, as it is in Heaven. I also liked and was blessed by the personal testimonies that they shared throughout the book. I also liked how each chapter included a special prayer at the end of each chapter to assist readers in opening their hearts in prayer.

In Search of Wisdom: Life-Changing Truths in the Book of Proverbs by Joyce Meyer Book Review

In Search of Wisdom, Joyce Meyer has written a brand-new book on Proverbs. King Solomon wrote most of the book of Proverbs with the except of chapter 30 being written by Agur and chapter 31 written by King Lemuel. It was compiled over a period of 200 years. She shared how we can learn a great deal of wisdom from Proverbs. It discussed how to treat people, power of our words, managing our finances, marriage life, handing offenses, laziness, discipline, and much more. She begins the book by revealing 7 foundational principles found in Proverbs: wisdom, understanding, prudence, knowledge, discretion, and discernment. She did a detail study on what each of these means and how we look for each of these repeatedly in studying Proverbs. She explored each chapter of Proverbs throughout the book. She first defined the meaning behind the word, “fool” and did so in today’s terms. Basically, it means a fool is morally deficient and makes poor decisions. Joyce explained how the Bible described wisdom as a she and how wisdom reflected God’s thoughts.

One of my favorite topics was one on the thirty saying of the wise and how detailed she went into each. She started with Proverbs 22:17-21 and this discussed listening to Godly counsel and trusting the Lord. We are instructed to be honest and speak the truth and bring back truthful reports to people we serve. Joyce shared a personal story about how at one time she was asked by her boss at the time to lie for him. She told him no and she admitted she was worried that she would be fired over it. She eventually instead received a promotion and she felt like she did because she was honest and refused to be dishonest. She explained to readers how we all serve someone who we work for. But at the end of the day, we all serve God.

I would recommend this awesome devotional type study to anyone who is ready to gain more wisdom in their lives. Proverbs contains vast knowledge on how we can live our lives and grow into the person God created us to be. I immensely loved how she looked at the topic of the power of our words and how gossip can damage people and relationships. I enjoyed how she reminded readers to think Godly thoughts and to focus on what we are thinking about because they will eventually become words that will leave our mouths. We can choose to speak life and hope out unto a dying world. I also liked how she looked at laziness and people who are passive in life. She encouraged readers to follow the Biblical principle and that the diligent will prosper in life. This book will be extremely helpful in applying the wisdom and Biblical principles found in the book of Proverbs. Joyce Meyer does a wonderful job at diving into the lessons. I liked how she included countless everyday examples to help readers to understand what they were reading in Proverbs. This book is a book that is meant to be studied in depth where readers can gain the knowledge and the wisdom that God wants us to have.

The Beauty of an Uncluttered Soul: Allowing God's Spirit to Transform You from the Inside Out by Carla Gasser and Illustrated by Vivian Kammel Book Review

In Beauty of an Uncluttered Soul, Carla Gasser has written a new book about transforming your soul. In the book, she used an acronym for the word, SOUL to guide readers into decluttering their lives. It stands for searching, observing, using, and leaning. She explored the fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 and how we can experience these qualities in our lives. These included, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”. Each devotional type explored each fruit of the Spirit. She revealed how we can make three piles to unclutter our souls and to make room for peace in our lives. One of the ways was in giving away our worries and fears. We can learn to give them to God and not to be concerned about them any longer. There are countless things that we are constantly worried about and it’s stealing our peace and it’s time we learn to throw them away and declutter our souls. She also included a special section about the tool’s readers will need while they read the book. These included, a Bible, art supplies, pen/pencil, notecards, journal, helpful terms (in the back of the book), and questions.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to study and learn more about the fruits of the Spirit and they are searching on how to declutter their souls. I immensely enjoyed how she broke down each fruit of the Spirit and how she looked at each one by using the SOUL acronym in order to explore the meaning behind each fruit. I liked how she included different scriptures throughout each study on the fruits of the Spirit. One of my favorites was when she discussed the topic of kindness and she included examples on how to reach out to others and show them kindness. Some of these included, compliment the waiter or waitress on excellent services maybe tipping more, making meals for your neighbors or people in need, giving a gift package to delivery people, letting people cut us in line, and much more. I also liked how Vivian illustrated the book to make it more appealing to readers and to keep them engaged. Most of them was of nature, trees, flowers, leaves, and fruit. I liked how she included questions and left some room where readers could answer the question inside the book. I also liked how they included a yellow ribbon bookmark where readers can bookmark their reading spot.

Do Life Differently: A Strategic Path Toward Extraordinary by Jeff D. Reeter Book Review

In Do Life Differently, Jeff D. Reeter explored the topic of learning to lead yourself first, where in turn you can lead others more effectively. He begins the book by sharing a story about how he was lost in the wilderness when he was on a hunt to find the elusive elk in the high country of the Uncompahgre National Forest in Colorado. He shared his experience and how he was able to find his way back to the campsite. Later on, he shared what he learned from being lost and how he eventually took professional guided hunts and gained in knowledge. He was also able to learn to lead himself and how he always tries to enjoy the adventure of the trip. He explained to readers on how we need to strive to be extraordinary in our businesses, family, relationships, health, and overall life. Many of us are settling for being just an ordinary spouse, employee, friend, church member, and health. Jeff encouraged readers to take inventory of how God has made each of us unique. We need to discover our passions, experiences, skills, and talents and use them to reach our best authentic self. He opened up about how readers can get unstuck in life and how we can move from a life of survival to a life of significance.

I would recommend this amazing book to anyone who is ready to live an extraordinary life and they are ready to live their life in a different way. I liked how Jeff choose to focus on a different aspect of leadership. He shared the importance of leading yourself first. This is something that many other leadership books incline to not look at. I also enjoyed how he encouraged readers to create their own master action plan that will help you to reach your five-year vision you’re moving towards. I immensely enjoyed how he shared a story about what he learned while leading a signature talk session with a group of college students. One of the activities, he asked them to do was write down their future dreams for their marriage, vocation, health, spiritual growth, and community involvement. He also tried it with adults in their 40s and 50s. The adults tend to complain and get irritated. The younger students tend to dream and write down their dreams. He discovered the main difference is that older adults have already had life crush some of their dreams and some chose to follow the crowd. I liked how he explained how readers can achieve a life of significance at any age and in this book, he will guide readers into doing just that.
