Veggie Tales: God’s Word for Me: 365 Daily Devos for Boys Book Review

God’s Word for Me 365 Daily Devos for Boys is a new devotional featuring the Veggie Tales. Most of the pages are filled with the male characters of the Veggie Tales. All the pages are in color. Each day enclosed a verse, a short story, a thought, and a prayer for today. The back of the book also enclosed a special section called, “Know It By Heart” filled with scripture.

One of the days explored how we are commanded to wait on the Lord and be strong, and have courage. They explained how even heroes in the Bible faced their fears. Esther, Barak, Jesus chose to risk their lives but they had courage through whatever they faced. We can instead ask God for His help and He will provide His help. When we are feeling nervous and afraid to go after what God is trying to tell us, we can ask for His strength and courage. This devotional asked to look inward and figure what where we need to be brave.

I would recommend this incredible book to little boys and it would make a great devotional introduction book. It would make a wonderful gift to boys aged 3-8 and will help strengthen and grow our little boy’s faith. One of my favorite ones discussed love and there is no greater love than for a friend to lay down their live for their friends. One of the ways, we can be a better friend is to let others go first. We can remind our kids that they don’t always have to be first or to always be the leader. This can allow our friend to feel valued and we might learn something new. I love how the devotionals included practical ways to grow in our relationship with Christ and others.

Veggie Tales: God’s Word for Me: 365 Daily Devos for Girls Book Review

God’s Word for Me 365 Daily Devos for Girls is a new devotional featuring the Veggie Tales. Most of the pages are filled with the female characters of the Veggie Tales. All the pages are in color. Each day enclosed a verse, a short story, a thought, and a prayer for today. The back of the book also enclosed a special section called, “Know It By Heart” filled with scripture.

One of the devotionals discussed the faith of a tiny seed. In scripture, we are reminded that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed that we can declare to the mountain to move and it will move. There is nothing impossible with God. This day talked about planting a seed and how we can plant just a small seed and watch it grow into a fruitful fruit, plant, vegetables, flower, or tree. Our faith can be small and we can still grow it by reading God’s word and learning everything we can about God. We can also go to church and pray to help us grow in Christ’s teachings.

I would recommend this insightful devotional to any parent or grandparent that has little girls. I believe it would be a great tool for girls aged 3 to 8. This could be a wonderful devotional for parents to read together with their little girls at bedtime or even early in the mornings before school. I love how colorful the book is and how it will engage our children to want to learn the principles found in scripture. One of my favorite days explored Zechariah and how he was asked by people what God wanted them to know. He told them about kindness. It explained how powerful kindness is and how it can change others’ lives for the better.

Joy to the World: Veggie Tales by Pamela Kennedy Book Review

Joy to the World is a new adventure featuring the Veggie Tales. They were preparing for a Christmas show. The peas sang a song about the Christmas star. Larry played a Christmas carol on his special made gingerbread guitar. Junior and Bob performed a neat act together of dancing and juggling candy canes. Next, they all performed together the story about the Savior’s birth and how shepherds come to witness this incredible event. At the end, they all sung Joy to the World as a group and told others about how Jesus provides us with true joy.

I would recommend this wonderful book to any child aged 2-6. I thought this book contained a lot of imagination and silly characters doing fun things to keep children laughing and engaged. I liked the fun guitar solo and juggling scenes and you can hear this book playing out like a Veggie Tales movie. I loved how in the end they covered the Christmas story and told about the story of Jesus and they all come together to worship the Lord with the song Joy to the World.
