Conquer Your Deliverance: How to Live a Life of Total Freedom by John Ramirez Book Review

In Conquer Your Deliverance, John Ramirez has written a book about finding freedom and understanding how the satan will attack you. The book contained key principles from scriptures in dealing with spiritual warfare. He begins the book by comparing the Church to Gilligan’s Island. They are stuck on an island of rejection, rape, molestation, generational curses, despair, unforgiveness, and whatever else your island maybe. He explained how he himself was living on the island for 25 years of his life. He grew up with a lack of love from a father and his own father told him he was worthless and wouldn’t amount to anything. His mother was beat up and abused. They lived in poverty and he explained how his own mother took him along with his aunt to a witch’s house. They engaged in tarot cards and demonic activity. His father was a warlock and also believe in the dark principles. His father died when he was just 33 years old. He was shot in the face over a fight over another man’s girl. He explained how he met his wife and how they got married on Halloween to please the devil. History started to repeat itself and he was becoming just like his own father and passing down generational curses to his own daughter. He was held captive by satanic rituals until one day he heard a voice from God. He had a dream and he goes into details about how this changed him forever into believing in God. He also revealed how he was a misfit and looked at the life of David and how he was one too. In the book, he explored declarations for breakthroughs, prayers, and tools to handle the devil’s playbook.

I would recommend this life changing book on battling the devils plays and breaking free from his attacks. I liked how open he was in sharing how he was once a big time satan worshiper and how God was able to reach him and help him to break free. I immensely loved how many prayers and declarations this book contained. There is even a neat section in the back of the book of prayers. I also liked how he shared a personal story about his sister and how she passed away and how God wrote a love story between them. This book will show readers how to pray for their deliverance from the attacks of the enemy. This book will assist you in conquering the bondage that is destroying your entire life.

The Gift Shop Bear Written/ Illustrated by Phyllis Harris Book Review

The Gift Shop Bear is a book about a Christmas bear who lives in the gift shop and he only comes out of the attic at Christmas time. He is always so happy when he is able to see Annie. They shared a cute friendship together. They would share secrets, make crafts, have hot cocoa, watch the snow fall, and listen to the carolers. Many kids wanted to buy bear but he wasn’t for sale. At night, he would be placed under the display Christmas tree in the shop’s window. He would dread the day that Christmas was over and when he would be put back upstairs. Until one day, something happened to change everything the store was closing.

I would recommend this wonderful Christmas book to any child aged 3-9. The book is a very heartwarming story of a little girl and a bear and their special friendship. I liked how it had they both shared an everlasting bond and how they would both miss each other during the other seasons. The book displayed to children the importance of friendship and the longing to be together even when you’re far apart. I loved how colorful the illustrations were and how detailed they were. The book has the beautiful graphics to appeal to children.

Where’s My Christmas Tree? By Bob Holt Book Review

Where’s My Christmas Tree is a children’s book about helping a fellow penguin dilemma in finding a Christmas tree. His friend, Narwhal the whale asked the penguin where his tree is and then he instructs him where he must go to find one. He travels around in the snow looking for a forest to get a Christmas tree. He asked the walrus and seagulls where he could find one. He is unable to find one until they brainstorm a plan to surprise the penguin.

I would recommend this children’s book to any child aged 1-5. It’s a short book enclosed in a cardboard design. I loved the Christmas theme and how the book teaches kids how to help others and to become a blessing to others. I immensely loved how they all come together to make the penguin happy with discovering a Christmas tree even if it’s not in the typical tree fashion that we would think of. I liked how colorful the illustrations were and how it will put children into the Christmas spirit.

I immensely loved how she included countless tips on getting organized and the power of containers to make rooms look neater. I also loved the chapter on healing and how she opened up about her husband battle with having a nervous breakdown and how he was able to heal and deal with the stress and anxiety he was facing. She explained how the Holy Spirit revealed to him that he needed to name all the people he needed to forgive in his life. He was able to bounce back and get healing. I also loved how she discussed being healthy and included a lot of recipes to do so. A lot of them looked really tasty such as the Baked Chicken Nuggets with Dipping Sauce, Greek Yogurt Pancakes, Zucchini Fries, Breakfast Tacos, and there is a bunch more enclosed. In God is My Hiding Place is a brand-new devotional based on the life of Corrie Ten Boom and her life story. She was Holland’s first woman licensed as a watchmaker. She also is a Nazi prison camp survivor and had to be there for ten months. She chose to hid Jews in her own home and was arrested when they discovered it. Unfortunately, while she was in prison her sister, Betsie and her father passed away. After she was released, she travelled the world spreading the gospel and the power of forgiveness and healing. She shared in the book how 100,000 women died in the Nazi prison camp some from disease, starvation, and executions. She opened up about how in the concentration camp was crowd and the place was design to hold only 400 but there was 1400 living there. She explained the horrible lack of bed conditions and how fights were a common occurrence there. She also shared how Betsie would pray that peace would fill the room and she casted out the spirit of strife. She revealed how things started changing and how people started to respect each other living in those tight quarters. She opened up about how touched she was when her sister got deathly ill and the woman there were all asking about her and showing care. She explained how Christ is there in our dark situations and how He changes things for the better.

I would recommend this awesome inspiring devotional who is seeking refuge and they are needing strength in their circumstances. They used a collection of her books to form this new book. I was blessed in reading about how she was able to overcome her difficulty in the prison camp and how she was able to reply on Christ’s power. I loved the style of the book and how each day included a personal story, a scripture verse, and a prayer. I immensely enjoyed reading about her faith and how she was able to forgive and spread the gospel with others. She was able to reply on peace and trust God through it all. Her faith is truly inspiring and her ability to live in forgiveness towards the people who put her in prison.

100 Prayers Every Christian Should Know: Build Your Faith with the Prayers that Shaped History by Bethany House Book Review

100 Prayers Every Christian Should Know is a brand-new book by Bethany House enclosed as a collection of prayers. The book discussed different prayers from key figures in history. Some of these included presidents, theologians, church leaders, and Bible characters. The book featured prayers from, “Dwight L. Moody, Charles Spurgeon, Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, William Tyndale, Andrew Murray, John Calvin, Prayers for Grace for Meals, Jonah, Hannah”, and much more. Each day started by explaining who the important person was and what they did with their life. Next, there was a prayer and an explanation about why this prayer is important. The book has a few different sections of prayer such as, “prayers for peace and comfort, guidance and light in the darkest hours, changed hearts, nation to be moved, face of pain and grief, faith to be strengthened, humility”, and more.

I would recommend this wonderful collection to anyone who is ready to pray prayers from past centuries. Some of the prayers were very dark in nature but they showed the honest of the time and what they were experiencing. One of these was from Harriet Tubman and how she was praying for her slave master and how she wanted God to change his heart and then it changed to if he wasn’t going to then if he would just kill him. This show us that we can be honest and truthful to God. They compared her event to Moses and how he begged for Pharaoh to release the Israelites. I also liked the presidential prayers and how they prayed for the nation. There are tons of prayers included in the book to encourage readers to dig deeper into their spiritual growth.
