Excellence by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Excellence, Joel Osteen encouraged readers to be people of excellence and to follow God with great character and integrity. Mediocrity is being more popular and people prefer to do the bare minimum to just get by. We would rather be average. Some may even be slacking off or arriving late to work. He instructed us to not follow the crowd and to take pride into our own work. Joel explained how instead God has called us to be above and to be people of excellence and integrity. In the work setting, we should be a model employee for our company. We should be on time, have a great attitude, and going above and beyond. The new trainee should be able to look up to us for guidance. Scriptures even declare how if a solider tells us to carry his gear for one mile we should instead carry it for two and be good steward. Joel even went on to share how he chooses to rewatch his online services. He personally helps his video editor to edit his sermons before they are broadcasted on TV. He studies each one to see what he could improve on and also the lighting and camera angles. He doesn’t want people to become stagnant. In the book, he reminded readers that they represent God and should be people of excellence. This applies to our appearance and work ethic. This book is a small compact book with a  mixture of some of the material found in You Can, You Will, The Power of I Am, and Break Out.

One of my favorite examples he used was about a young man who had a dream of being a professional football player. He did well in school and performed great at the sport. He was just a little shorter than the coaches thought he should be. They didn’t think he had what it took in college sports. He went to a junior college and worked delivering pizza. He quit football completely. He delivered it one day to a family and a ten year old boy asked him why he was delivering pizza. He thought about the boys comments and then he got his motivation back and started training again. He gained about 70 pounds and grew stronger. He tried out for a major university and worked his way up to a star player. He went on to become an NFL player. Joel asked readers if they had settled for less than God’s plan for you. He explained how we are created to be the head and not the tail. We need believe that we are well equipped to handle whatever we need to do.

Another impactful story was about a professor who was handing out tests for his students. He decided to provide with a special incentive as their last test. They could hand in the test and get an automatic C and they wouldn’t have to take the test. About half of the test opted to take that route. The rest of the students were given the test and he encouraged them and told them he was proud of their hard work. When they flipped over the test, it told them they made an A. Joel instructed readers to be the second group and to strive for excellence. The A’s would have been worth the risk if they would have only believed.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is seeking encouragement and they are ready to have a spirit and mindset of excellence. I appreciated how real he was in sharing how we shouldn’t be settling for less than God’s best. We need to be on time at work and having a positive attitude that we are working for God. He encouraged readers to not slack off and to focus on work when we are supposed to be working. We can choose to not settle for mediocre instead we can go above and beyond. He shared how he picks up trash he finds in his church and how we don’t need to become so big that we don’t help others. I really enjoyed how this book was a compilation of three of his different books and it’s very easy to study the principles enclosed in this book.

Speak the Blessing: Send Your Words in the Direction You Want Your Life to Go by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Speak the Blessing, Joel Osteen has written a new book about speaking out life giving words over our lives and unlocking the power in our mouths. He begins the book by sharing how his church begins every service with a daily declaration filling with everything they are in Christ. It referred to as “I Am”. Joel has seen how the power of your words can change your life. When we send out the words in the direction and way, we want our lives to go, we can witness our lives improving. He explained how if we are wanting to be healthy, we need to declare that we are healed this helps to release the healing in our lives. He shared how scriptures tells us to declare we are strong even if we feel weak. He opened up about his mother had to choose to declare that she was healed. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in 1981 and not given a good medical report and outcome. She would actively read and speak scriptures over her life. She would declare that she would live and not die and forty-three years later she is still alive and was healed.

One of my favorite chapters discussed telling ourselves a new story. Our current story comes from how we choose to see ourselves. It can come from our past and how we were raised our failures. This is limiting ourselves and we are believing what we are telling ourselves. We can make a new decision and write a new story. God has declared that we are a masterpiece, a victor, and an overcomer. He can turn around anything negative that we have faced and cause it to work out for our good. He encouraged readers to take the pen back and rewrite a new story. He used this chapter to share the challenges he encountered when his father passed away and he had to step up and pastor the church. He was transparent in revealing how he thought he couldn’t ever get up and speak to the church and he had fear. He was more typically quiet then his father was. He had to do what he instructed readers to do. He had to tell himself a new story and that God has equipped him and he was anointed to do what he was called to do.

I would this awesome book to anyone who is seeking a book about the power of your mouth. This book can assist you in speaking truth over your life and it can teach you on to send the words in the right direction. One of my favorite stories was about how our story may be limiting and Joel told a story about a bear who was forced to live in a cage and went they tried to resend her into the wild she wouldn’t go. She got out of the cage but the cage wouldn’t get out of her. This is a very insightful story about the story we tell ourselves can cause us to remain stuck in life. I loved how positive this book was and how it taught readers to prophesy their future and to stop cursing your future. The principles in this book can greatly change your life just learn to speak them out!

15 Ways to Live Longer and Healthier: Life-Changing Strategies for Greater Energy, a More Focused Mind, and a Calmer Soul by Joel Osteen Book Review

In 15 Ways to Live Longer and Healthier, Joel Osteen teaches readers the keys to having more energy and being more vitality, and productive. He begins the book by explain how studies are showing that if we are living in a negative state of mind, then we are more prone to becoming sick. We will actually suffer in our immune system. It is estimated that “90% of all visits to a primary care physician are stress-related.” Joel starts the book by sharing how critical it is to pay attention to our inner life. In his 20s, he was experiencing redness between his eyes and around the top of his face. It was very itchy and he tried all sorts of creams and lotions and nothing will fix the issue. He finally found a solution from one doctor who told him it was from stress related. He had to learn to live a more balance life and focus on his inner being. Some of the key ways he shared in the book was, “a healthy soul, choose to be happy, unclutter your mind, dealing with difficult people, nothing to prove, tame the tongue, and much more.

One of my favorite chapters was the one on unclutter your mind. Many of us are burden down by negative thoughts and we are living worried and we can’t understand why we are tired all of the time. He shared how scriptures instruct us to guard our minds and this is one of the ways in which we can be in more peace. He watched this documentary on hoarders and this one lady was struggling to get rid of stuff. You couldn’t walk anywhere in her house there was just piles of stuff everywhere. She would keep everything even popsicle wrappers and she kept them because they reminded of her children who were grown now. She was keeping unnecessary trash that she desperately needed to get rid of but couldn’t. Eventually the intervention worked and she was able to clean up her house and get of all the trash. Joel brilliantly compares this example to our minds and how many of us won’t let go of wrong thoughts and beliefs. It’s our choice to make as to whether we will live free. We are wasting precious time and draining all of our emotional energy when we concentration on and hold onto grudges from past hurts. Instead, we need to believe that God will give us beauty for our ashes and we don’t have to try and get vindication.

Another favorite chapter was about dealing with difficult people. He looked at the story of Nabal. He was a mean man who was wealthy and had lots of livestock. David was at the time with his army hiding from King Saul and they were watching over Nabal’s sheep. They asked him for food and he told them no and stated how he didn’t ask them to watch them. David was upset and was going to go take him out with his army. When they arrived, he met Abigail and she gave them food and told him that her husband is a fool and that he shouldn’t have insulted David. She told him that he would be King and not to worry about his husband. This wasn’t a battle he would need to be fighting. Eventually, Nabal got sick ten days later and died. David then married her to become one of his wives. Joel used this story to explain to readers that when we encounter Nabals spirits and people who are rude. We need to be like Abigail and ask ourselves, “why are we fighting with a fool.” He shared how we need to put on the oil of joy each day and to let their negative comments and attitudes slide right off our us. We need to become like an eagle and rise above the crows and chickens.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to live a healthier life with more energy. I greatly loved the message in this book and this book is one meant to be studied and reread to let the message get down into your soul. It covered everything from dealing with difficult people, living in the present, to letting go of control. These life strategies will greatly benefit readers and help them to live a more joyful life. I loved how he shared personal stories and examples from others to really explain the message. One of the stories was about how one lady lost her job and then her mom got sick and died. When she lost her job, this provided time for her to spend with her dying mom and soon she did get blessed with another job. This story is about embracing where we currently are and to enjoy the moment. Another story I liked was about his sister, Lisa’s story and how they were unable to have kids and how they had to become open to adoption and how God answered that prayer. This is probably one of the best books I have read from Joel. I just loved the concept of this one and the core message.

There is also a 15 day special on his YouTube that is really beneficial and features guests from his church and leadership discussing principles included in this book.

Believe: Hope Has Your Name on It by Joel Osteen

In Believe, Joel Osteen has written a book discussing the power of believing and using it to change your entire life. When we choose to believe this in fact will help us to ignite the promises of God and to witness His favor throughout the day. We can learn to believe what God has stated over our lives and get in agreement with Him. Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:19 that believers and those that would believe would learn to understand the greatness of God’s power. Joel stated how we must learn to just get in agreement with God and say Lord, I believe. He shared a story found in scripture that discussed how a little girl was very sick and the dad came to Jesus and begged for him to heal his daughter. Jesus kept making stops along the way and never arrived there before she died. He told them if they would only believe, then she would be made well. Jesus did pray for her and she was healed. We can use this example to believe that God is able to turn anything around, fix our financial burdens, bring our wayward children home, provide healing, help us to find our spouse, have children, our dreams to come to pass, and whatever else you are believing God for. The book is derived from material, “All Things are Working for Your Good, The Power of Favor, Think Better, Live Better, and Break Out”.

In the book, he shared a story about a young couple who attended Lakewood Church. They had a dream to buy their first home and they believed what scriptures stated about God’s favor and Ephesians 3:20. For ten years, they saved up the money for their dream home. They were about to close on the house when her house lost his job on his birthday. They believed that God was a God of justice and He could bring restoration. The husband didn’t get his hopes up. He was still looking for a job and volunteering at church. Five months later and out of the blue he received a phone call from his old job. It was someone from corporate explaining that they had fired the whole management team. The company wanted him to come back and they restored all of his benefits and retirement. The house was unfortunately sold by then. But God provided them with another home that turned how to be in a better area and for a better price.

I would recommend this awesome book about believing and being mindful of what you are believing. I loved the concept for this book and it’s a wonderful book to help you to feel refreshed. I greatly connected with the importance of setting your thermostat on God’s promises and keep our mindsets set on things above. Even when the temperature changes, we can learn to stay in faith and not be moved by what we see. We can instead by moved by what we know. This was very life changing in reading about how we need set our thermostat and not be moved by whatever is happening around us. I also loved how he went into detail about our anchor of hope. Sometimes we have to cut the lines to break free from whatever is holding us down. This will help us to have the right perceptive and remember to have hope in what matters. I was touched by the incredible story he shared regarding an inmate who was convicted of selling drugs and sentenced to 40 years and how watching Lakewood changed his life. He believed that he would get out early and was released and attended a service and explained to Joel how he changed his life. This was breathtaking to read and how he was able to believe for God’s favor. I also liked reading about how he was able to get the Compaq Center and move Lakewood Church there and all the challenges and obstacles that they face. These were inspiring to read about.

Your Greater Is Coming: Discover the Path to Your Bigger, Better, and Brighter Future by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Your Greater is Coming, Joel Osteen explored the message of hope and believing that better days are headed your way. He reminded readers that when they are going through difficult times, they must remember that the bad break that we dealing with isn’t the end. There is greater coming. It’s imperative that we keep that phrase in our spirit and dwell on it when we are facing challenges. He shared what apostle Peter said about how after we suffer for a little while and God will provide us with grace and He will restore us and strengthen us. We can have hope that the suffering we are experiencing isn’t permanent. We have to remember that we must go through the suffering and keep an attitude of faith. Joel explained how our suffering is a setup and how He can use this to take us to another level in our destiny. We wouldn’t be who we are today without going through the disappointment, setbacks, and hardships.

Joel shared a personal story about how his dad began pastoring for a good number of years. He eventually had to leave that church because Joel’s sister, Lisa was born with something like cerebral palsy and she was told that she wouldn’t be able to walk or feed herself. His father at the time took a week’s trip to seek God and study scripture. His church at the time didn’t believe that God healed in today’s times. But he was reminded that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He taught on healing at his church and he felt he was forced to leave the church. His parents went on to start Lakewood and at first services were held in an old feedstore and around 90 people showed up for the first service. Joel shared how Lisa was healed and how the church has grown over the years. His parents were able to experience greater favor, opportunity, influence, and step into what God had for them.

One of my favorite stories, he described was on a lady who had been without work for over a year. She was a sales associate who contact wasn’t being renewed. She applied at many different places and was turned down. She had an interview out of state and it come down to her and another man. On the way, there she met a taxicab driver. She explained how she had been out of work and was she had been praying and believing for a door to open for her. Later that day, the driver picked up the interviewer and he realized that they were connected and he told her who she should pick for the job. The driver sang praises for the lady and she got the job all because of how the driver portray the lady who desperately wanted the job. Joel shared how this was a hand of God and wasn’t just a coincidence. God caused someone who didn’t know her to put a good word in for her that lead to her in getting the job.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to start believing and dreaming again. We must always remember that our story hasn’t ended and if we are still breathing, then we can rely on hope and that greater is coming. I immensely loved the positive message of this book and how if we will take the extra time to let the message get into our spirit daily, we will witness a wonderful transformation and go from a caterpillar to a butterfly. God is going to do a new thing in our lives and we must not place Him in a box. I also enjoyed the story about the car charger and how Joel explained how he didn’t know that some vehicles contain cordless chargers and he used that story to explain how sometimes things don’t come in ways that we are used to or expecting them to. God could be opening up a new door but we might not be able to perceive it if we aren’t open.

Stay in the Game: No Adversity is Too Great for You by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Stay in the Game, Joel Osteen has written a powerful book about how to handle any obstacle that we will face. Joel encouraged readers to get back into the game and not to quit. We can have joy while we are finishing our race in this life. He shared how critical it is to not sit on the sidelines of life.  We instead still need to pursue our life and go be a blessing to someone else while we are hurting. He explained how his own mother was able to do this while she was battling terminal liver cancer. She chose to stay in the game and to pray for people who were hurting. She kept going to church and even though she was in pain and hurting she was making a decision to be a blessing to someone else. He looked at Isaiah and how he stated that we must arise up from our depression and come into a new life. Even if we lost a relationship, our job, battling a health issue, or anything else. We need to shake off our disappointment and hurt. God is able to restore everything taken from us like Job.

The book begins with a story about Shaquille O’Neal and how he walked up to Dale Brown, a legendary coach of the LSU basketball team when he was giving a speech. O’Neal told him how he wanted to play basketball but that he couldn’t jump or dunk the ball. He was thirteen years old at the time and the coach provided him with a training program and tried to mentor him. He was still cut from his local basketball team and was told he was too big, clumsy, and slow. Brown encouraged him to stay in the game and keep trying and to keep relying on God to help him. O’Neal was able to remove all the negative labels that were put on him. As we all know, he eventually went to LSU and was a very successful basketball player. Joel shared this example to remind us about the importance of staying in the game.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is discouraged and they are wanting to give up on their race to the finish life. I appreciated Joel’s encouragement throughout the book and the teachings about overcoming whatever we are facing and to stay in the game. One of my favorite teaching stories he shared was the one about the telescope and the little boy who was getting bullied. This was a great message about our perspective. I also enjoyed reading about the story of the Christmas pies and how God was able to provide and use the setback for their good. I also liked Joel’s humor in this one and the joke he says at the end of the story. I also liked how the book is small and it makes it easy to carry around and to keep it with us for daily reminders.

Rule Your Day: 6 Keys to Maximizing Your Success and Accelerating Your Dreams by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Rule Your Day, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new book about the power of learning how to rule your day. He instructed readers to make a decision to control their atmosphere and this included our thoughts, emotions, and attitudes. He explained how many of us get burden down by the news and all the negative reports on the media outlets. We have to be careful with what we allow in and what we let get down into our spirit. Joel shared the story of David and Saul. Saul was extremely jealous of David and his army tried to have David killed. Even with going through all of that, David chose to sing about Christ’s power and he reminded himself of how God is our refuge. Joel used this to remind readers that David chose to control his own atmosphere and stay in peace. Throughout the book, Joel will explain how we can use these six keys to live a more peaceful, faith filled, and a positive life.

One of my favorite chapters was the one entitled, “No More Distractions”. This one discussed Jesus and how when it was time for Him to be crucified, He set His face towards Jerusalem. This was the time for his final act and hour on Earth had come and He was about to fulfill His main purpose. He used this exampled to remind readers that our assignment on this Earth is only temporary and we all have an expiration date. We need to be focused and not live distracted. There are many things that can distract us such as caring what other people think of us, fighting battles we don’t need to be fighting, being offended, and dwelling on things that don’t matter.

I would recommend this life changing powerful book to anyone who is ready to unlock the six keys to living a more successful positive attitude on life.  One of my favorite things was how Joel shared how not everyone is going to like us or accept us. He reminded us not to get distracted and becoming obsessed with trying to convince others to like us. One of my favorite quotes was, “Nobody talks about people who aren’t doing anything. Nobody tries to discredit someone who has no influence.” This is a very powerful statement that if you’re struggling with people pleasing, this will help you immensely if you will receive that down into your spirit. I appreciated how Joel even shared how he felt pressure to be what others wanted when he first started preaching and leading his father’s church. He revealed how he instead chose to follow God’s guidance and listen to Him. Another favorite quote was, “I’ve heard it said that you should quit swimming across an ocean to be good to someone who won’t jump across a puddle to be good to you. If they get offended because you can’t meet every expectation, they aren’t a true friend”. This is also very powerful in reminding us not to be controlled by others and to be distracted and to seek friends who will be a true friend to us. If you’re looking for an excellent book on learning to rule your day every day, then read this wonderful book!

Peace for the Season: 40 Devotions for Christmas by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Peace for the Season, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new devotional covering the Christmas story. He starts by reminding readers how Isaiah foretold about Jesus being born and how He is gift to all people. Jesus is called an everlasting God, Counselor, and Prince of Peace. He shared how we need to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and it’s easy to dwelt on getting last minute gifts, decorating, and running place to place to celebrate with loved ones. Throughout the book, he will explore the birth of Jesus and how Mary was instructed that she would be carrying Jesus. The book is divided into a few different topics such as, “God’s Got This, Peace with Yourself, Sleep On”, and much more. The first area he discussed was about how God has got this. He stated that Mary was probably excited but also a little confused because she was a virgin. She had to choose to believe in the promises of God and that He would take care of her. Joel explained how we can get lost in our difficulties and challenges and we need to be reminded that God has it and that He is complete control.

I would recommend this awesome devotional for everyone for Christmas because this would make a wonderful gift to give this season. A lot of us are struggling with living in peace and we need to be reminded that God is still in control and we don’t have to live frustrated or broken down. I immensely loved how the book contained the whole story of Christmas and even some on the teaching of Jesus. One of my favorite topics was the one on sleeping and how Joseph was told while he was sleeping to marry Mary even though the child, she was carrying wasn’t even his. I loved the other part of the story about how Jesus also told his disciples to sleep on before he tried three times for them to wake up and pray with Him before his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. I liked how Joel used this story to showcase how we sometimes need to have the mindset of sleep on and to not be bothered by things we can’t change. We can instead focus on God’s power and how He is well able to do the impossible. I loved all of the peaceful reminders included in this book and I think it will assist in bringing peace to us during the Christmas season and even afterwards.

You Are Stronger Than You Think: Unleash the Power to Go Bigger, Go Bold, and Go Beyond What Limits You by Joel Osteen Book Review

In You Are Stronger Than You Think, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new inspirational book encouraging readers to stand firm in and not to let life circumstances overwhelm them. In the book, he is determined to help readers to overcome the cycles of defeat and to handle the pressure of life. He explained how God has already given us the power to deal with the pressures of life and the challenges are designed to make us stronger. He begins the book by sharing a story about the Mariana snailfish. This fish can survive at the very bottom of the ocean and this is the only fish that can in that amount of pressure. This fish has very unique features that allow it to live at that depth. He uses this story to illustrate how we are all able to handle whatever pressure we may be facing in our life. This might include raising children, financial, relationships, illness, business pressure, and whatever else life can throw at you. He went into great details about how we can learn to have a can-do mentality and through Christ we are well able to accomplish and can handle it.

In the book, he also encouraged readers to invite God into their difficulties. He explained how when we go through challenges a lot of the times, people are praying to God to get them out of the difficulty. This could include a bad illness, financial, or a work issue. He stated how instead we need to be inviting God into the challenge and to learn to grow from it. We need to allow God presence to come into our lives and in whatever we are going through. He looked at the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and how they refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar golden idol. He had them thrown into the fiery furnace and it was turned up 7 times hotter. Joel reiterated how God could have delivered them first thing but He chose to allow them to go through the fire. He reminded readers that we wouldn’t have known God was healer or that God could move mountains if we never had any obstacles. God did eventually deliver them and they weren’t touched by the fire and there was a fourth man reported in the fire with them. He revealed how important it is to not complain instead we can choose to praise and to stand firm that no weapon against us will prosper.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is tired of living stuck in life and they are always hoping and praying that they will have no more difficulties in life. I especially enjoyed how he shared that we need to be inviting God into our challenges and difficulties and how this can help us grow stronger. This book will guide readers into becoming stronger and to not reply on our feelings or the pressures of life. I immensely love how Joel reminded readers to take off the negative labels that we are wearing and to also take off can’t do mentality. I liked how he encouraged readers to keep walking on and to stay obedient and how we need to live by faith not by what we currently see.

Peaceful on Purpose: The Power to Remain Calm, Strong, and Confident in Every Season by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Peaceful on Purpose, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new book on assisting readers in dealing with conflict and how to live in peace, no matter what you may face. He begins the book by explaining how we can live in a mindset of all is well. Even when we are faced with difficult challenges, sickness, business failures, friend betrays us, handling the after effects of the pandemic, marriage struggles, and any other challenges. Joel explained how we can learn to replace our worries with all is well and how this is showing us how to place our trust in God. He looked at the story of the three Hebrew teenagers, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and how they were able to be thrown in to the fiery furnace because they refused to worship and bow down to a golden idol. They could have decided to complain and feel sorry for themselves. Instead, they believed that God will deliver them and protect them. When the king looked into the fiery furnace, he saw four men walking around unharmed. This is when the king realized one of the four men was the Son of God. Joel reminded readers that even though they were walking around and doing the right thing and following God. They still faced opposition and challenges.

He also opened up about how in his own life how he handled his father dying from a heart attack. He shared how he didn’t know how the church would go on and what all would happen. Joel learned this principle and how he had to believe in faith and remember that God is in control. He shared how you can turn negative thoughts around and to not focus on the what ifs in life.

I would recommend this awesome to anyone who is ready to live in peace and to handle difficult challenges that we will face in life. I immensely loved the hopeful attitude that Joel has and how he trained himself with God’s help in living a positive lifestyle. One of my favorite things, he taught was how to carry your spare tire in life. He used this teaching to remind readers to always carry their spare tire and be prepared in life. Many of us carry one of our cars but we fail to be ready to deal with the challenges that life throws at us. Joel shared how we need to make a provision in case things don’t go our way. He explained how we need to make important decisions ahead of time that we won’t get offended, get upset, and get sour. He shared how we can remain in peace and keep moving forward. I also liked how he stressed the criticalness of being in control of our own happiness and not to focus on being responsible for others and their happiness. I believe in readers would follow the principles found in this book, it would help them to live in peace and to live their life to the fullest.

Empty Out the Negative: Make Room for More Joy, Greater Confidence, and New Levels of Influence by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Empty Out, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new book about dumping all of our negative thoughts. We need to learn to let go and release all of the guilt, worry, doubt, offenses from the day before. They are only holding us back from living our best joyful and peaceful life. Joel describes it as a container and our heart is filled with many different negative emotions and it is weighing us down. He explained to readers that we get to make a choice on what we allow in our lives and what we think about. Joel shared how we need to learn to drop whatever bad baggage that happened today or even 5 minutes ago and to let it go. He looked at scriptures and how Jesus declared that the pure of heart will see God. He illustrated how our hearts need to be like a catheter and how it cleanses and purify our impurities and we need to get into a habit of releasing the negative things that are infecting us. He looked at the topic of unforgiveness and how the bitterness is hurting us. He revealed how we need to release our own failures and receive God’s mercy. He teaches readers how to be free from guilt. He also looked at how we can forgive others. He shared personal stories from others such as, Mary Johnson and how she was able to forgive someone who killed her own son.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to change their thinking. This book will help readers to drop the negative baggage and to let go of our mistakes, hurts, pains, and whatever things that didn’t work out. I liked how he reminded readers to dwell on the positive and how if we focus on the positive instead of the negative, we will see an improvement in our lives. We will also have less room in our thinking, if we choose to go after the positive. I also enjoyed how he gave great encouragement to readers on how if they choose to give their spouse compliments and to have a higher fresh attitude, then we could possibly see a vast difference in our marriage. You could also apply this thinking to all of relationships and in our workforce. I immensely liked how Joel helped us to make room for right Godly thoughts and how we can increase our joy.

The Abundance Mind-Set: Success Starts Here by Joel Osteen Book Review

In the Abundance Mind-Set, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new book on how to change our thoughts and to think positive things. He begins the book by asking readers what the vision for their lives is and where do they see themselves in the future and their families. He reminded readers of the importance of what the scriptures declares about our thoughts and as a man thinks of himself so he is. He encouraged readers to picture good things and have an abundance mind-set and to see themselves accomplishing their dreams, overcoming obstacles, addictions, seeing their families restored, seeing themselves blessed, and seeing themselves married and having children. He looked at the Israelites and how they lived in slavery and in the land of barely enough and they had to journey all the way into the promised land. This land contained milk and honey and it was always flowing and they had plenty. They eventually arrived in their abundance, but they had to face many challenges before they got there.

In the book, he shared many stories from people he met over the years and how God was able to exceed their expectations and they walked into abundance. One of the stories was from a single mother of three children who immigrated from Europe. She applied for a job as a secretary at a university and she had a lot of competition. The interviewer was very rough and wasn’t friendly and she was afraid she might not be able to pass the 5-minute typing test. But through it, she believed in God’s power. When the bell went off at the same time, the phone rang and the lady conducting the test got distracted. She was tempted to stop but the lady who was conducting the test told her to keep going that wasn’t her bell. She ended up typing another five minutes and she got the job. One touch of God’s favor allowed her to pass the typing test. She was able to send all of her three kids to the college for free.

I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who is ready to change their thoughts and they want to have an abundance mindset. The book is a shorter book by Joel Osteen and it only contains 5 chapters. This book was made in a smaller book where readers can take it with them anywhere, they go. It would make an excellent devotional reading and this book is meant to be read over and over again where readers can learn to change their thoughts daily. I immensely enjoyed the chapter on, “Turn Up the Power” because this one discussed how important it is to keep God first in our lives and how he will put a commanded blessing on our lives. Joel Osteen shared how we need to remind ourselves positive things and to have faith that God can make our dreams come to pass. He explained the power of the magnet and how we can apply this concept to our lives. We have to focus on the positive and believe that God is attracting good things for our lives. He shared how we need to be believing healing is coming for us, favor is headed our way, abundance is looking for us, the right person is trying to find us. We don’t need to focus on the wrong things such as bad things are going to occur, we will never get married, our finances will never improve, we won’t ever get well, and our dreams won’t come to pass. I liked how Joel Osteen encouraged believers to seek God and let the blessings seek after us and we don’t have to be exhausted and frustrated and catch after them. If readers will apply the principles and the lessons, included in this book, we would see a rise of positive, abundance thinking.
