Vindication: Episode Ten TV Series Review and Giveaway

Vindication episode ten is the final episode in the TV series and is the most suspenseful one yet. This one showcased the battle between Detective Travis and Sergeant Tomlinson to see who would get the new role as the Chief. Throughout the episode, Sergeant Thomlinson is up to no good and plays dirty to try and make Travis and his family look back in front of everyone. This part had me wanting to yell at the screen about how wrong Sergeant Tomlinson is and how crooked he truly is. Fans will especially be on the edge of their seats when Sergeant Thomlinson gives his speech against Travis and most will feel angry towards him. There is also an additional storyline of Kris who is determined to get justice for her brother. I immensely enjoyed how they tied up loose ends on two other storylines in the series and they brought back someone he helped previous in an earlier episode and it showed how her life had changed for the better. I won’t reveal what these two storylines are but they did show redemption, healing, and the power of Faith in God can help you through whatever you may be facing. I will say the ending of this season was very entertaining and I was begging for more and I didn’t want it to end so soon. I will go ahead and warn watchers that it does in fact in end in a cliffhanger and I’m still wondering what happened and I can’t wait to see where they take it next season. I just don’t like to wait!

Peace for the Season: 40 Devotions for Christmas by Joel Osteen Book Review

In Peace for the Season, Joel Osteen has written a brand-new devotional covering the Christmas story. He starts by reminding readers how Isaiah foretold about Jesus being born and how He is gift to all people. Jesus is called an everlasting God, Counselor, and Prince of Peace. He shared how we need to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and it’s easy to dwelt on getting last minute gifts, decorating, and running place to place to celebrate with loved ones. Throughout the book, he will explore the birth of Jesus and how Mary was instructed that she would be carrying Jesus. The book is divided into a few different topics such as, “God’s Got This, Peace with Yourself, Sleep On”, and much more. The first area he discussed was about how God has got this. He stated that Mary was probably excited but also a little confused because she was a virgin. She had to choose to believe in the promises of God and that He would take care of her. Joel explained how we can get lost in our difficulties and challenges and we need to be reminded that God has it and that He is complete control.

I would recommend this awesome devotional for everyone for Christmas because this would make a wonderful gift to give this season. A lot of us are struggling with living in peace and we need to be reminded that God is still in control and we don’t have to live frustrated or broken down. I immensely loved how the book contained the whole story of Christmas and even some on the teaching of Jesus. One of my favorite topics was the one on sleeping and how Joseph was told while he was sleeping to marry Mary even though the child, she was carrying wasn’t even his. I loved the other part of the story about how Jesus also told his disciples to sleep on before he tried three times for them to wake up and pray with Him before his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. I liked how Joel used this story to showcase how we sometimes need to have the mindset of sleep on and to not be bothered by things we can’t change. We can instead focus on God’s power and how He is well able to do the impossible. I loved all of the peaceful reminders included in this book and I think it will assist in bringing peace to us during the Christmas season and even afterwards.

Just Getting Started: Stepping with Courage into God’s Call for the Next Stage of Life by Wendy Peter Book Review

In Just Getting Started, Wendy Peter has written a book about chasing after your dreams and creating a road map to make that happen. She begins the book by revealing how she was 50 years old before she decided to start living her dreams. She explained her struggle with keeping her dreams hidden for many years. She opened up about he was able to connect with Patricia King (pastor, author, and TV host) and was eventually asked to take over the spot of director for the Women on the Frontlines in Canada. She shared how the Bible called us to be the light of the world. She looked at how Jesus healed a blind man and stated that He was the light of the world. She also shared how we are also called to be a city on a hill. She revealed the scope of the false line and how countless people have stopped at that line and they believe they have hit their own finish line and completed their race, when in fact G     od still has more for them. In the book, she also looked at the importance of figuring out your why. She also went into details about identifying your what and your spheres of influence, ministry gifts, and hobbies/interests/practical skills and this in turn will assist in designing your dream.

I would recommend this incredible book to anyone who is ready to start dreaming again and they are wanting to pursue everything God has for them to complete. I loved how open Wendy was in sharing her own personal story about how she went after her dreams in her 50’s. I immensely loved the story about how she met Patricia and God opened up a door for her to lead women in ministry. I liked the principles she included in the book especially about finding out our what’s and why’s and how everything could fit together to help form our dreams.

The book was written with a riddle and then a door that readers can lift up to try and guess what costume theme is behind it. Bedtime Snuggles by Patricia Reeder Eubank Book Review

In Bedtime Snuggles, Patricia Reeder Eubank has written a children’s book about how different animals settle down at night and snuggle up and get cozy for the night. Some of these animals included chickens, bunnies, horses, raccoons, mice, lambs, foxes, owls, and more. The book shows how each animal gets ready for bed. In the end of the book, it shows a parent getting a child ready for bed by praying and cradling them.

This book is a wonderful book for any child: baby to aged 6. The book is made out of the hardcover cardboard where kids can’t tear it up as easily. The book contained a tale about bedtime and getting ready for a peaceful sleep. This would be a good book for parents to read together at bedtime. The illustrations are beautiful and you can see the details presented in the animals and their fur. I loved the farm themed animals and this will capture the attention of little ones.

The Happy Crab by Layla and Kevin Palmer Illustrated by Guy Wolek Book Review

In The Happy Crab, Layla and Kevin has written a brand-new children’s book about the adventures of a happy crab in the ocean. He travelled on the back of a whale one time to Haiti. He hunted treasure, surfed the waves, and went all over the world. One day, he was sleepy and fell asleep in a shell. A boy discovered the shell and loved how beautiful the shell was and it wasn’t broken like many of the others. He was picked up by a little boy and they took him away from the ocean. Eventually, they realized that there was a live crab inside the shell. His parents encouraged the boy to return him to the ocean. Before they returned him, the boy gave the crab the name happy.

I would recommend this awesome children’s book to any child aged 1-8. I liked how the book was kind of illustrated like the author appear on the back of the book and it’s based on personal true story. This book had a great message of putting others and their needs before our own. This is one of the secrets to true happiness. The boy could have easily kept him and chose to kick him out of his shell where he could have a nice shell to take home and display to his friends. I loved the ocean theme and the bright colors presented in the book. There is a lot of attention to detail in the illustrations.
