Southern Baby: Southern Sayings for Little Ones Written by Rebekah Moredock Illustrated by Jennica Lounsbury Review

Southern Baby is a children’s book written to teach our children some of the words we often hear and use in the South. They have been passed down from generation to generation. It explained what a buggy is, what bless your heart means, cuter than a June bug, fixin’ to, y’all, madder than a wet hen, just to name a few.

I liked how they included a sentence with the word in it and they also defined it to where kids could understand when they hear these sayings. I grew up in the South so I’m very familiar with all these saying and have heard them most of my life. I think the South will especially enjoy reading about these funny sayings and words. Even if you aren’t from the South the book will also assist others to understanding the meaning of them. I would recommend this book to any children from a baby to age 6. I loved the illustrations included in the book and how they helped to convey what the meaning means and it give the child a picture to help them understand.

"I received this book free from the publisher, Hachette Book Group/Faithwords/ Worthy Kids for my honest review.”
